There is a time when you have to do your own research I was sick for 15mths started with nausea abdomen painr dizziness rash shoulder pain lower back pain and dry heaves weight loss total exhaustion heart seemed to be pounding at times.... I was at the breaking point ! ...I had MRI laprascopic exploratory surgery baruim swallow and baruim enema CAT scan ultrasound ..1-.endoscopy 2- colonscopy 6- parasite checks 3- lymes checks 2-chest x-rays all negative! Medical doctors when they run out of answers they offer anti depressants particularly to women this really causes you too get super angry . Medical doctors are educated only in there area of speciality so I totally get your frustration.. I was fed up with not getting answers One day I read story about a women suffering for 10 years with Idiopathic cardiomyopathy she has nausea memory confusion increase heart rate dizziness shortness of breath leg edema and general weakness finally she had direct resonance testing results she had serious jaw infection caused by third molar the strep infections cured in 15 days all the symptoms gone!.. Finally we decided to go to a holistic dentist and we did not know that ALL root canals leak a virulent type of infection and that it can cause focal infections esecially if the poor person is comprimised well they extracted both root canal and in one of the root canals I had a major infecton all they way into my jaw bone I needed bone graphs and tissue graphs this infection was causing chronic appendicitic ( focal infection) basically an secondary infection my point is this DO not give up ever and turn over every stone, and sometimes something you would never even dream may very well be causing your illness

I have had the exact same pain on my right side both under ribs as well as in the back! I have been to hospital 4 times within the last 2 weeks, done every test possible with all results coming up negative :( I cant turn to the right, I cant lay on my back as the sharp pains get worse. I was told that it was a muscle in my back but I know its something different, it doesn't feel like a muscle and I don't think this pain would last this long if it were the muscle....anyone, PLEASE help!!!

i have very similar symptoms as many of you. i have off and on pain in my right rib cage. not life changing in any way, i can go on through my day normally. however, i do notice the pain. my right arm and shoulder hurt, and it feels like someone punched me in the arm with their knuckle, a dull bruised pain. thats the minor. i also have stool issues. like, it feels like a virus is coming on. i will have 3-5 stools and VERY frequent urination throughout the day. i will have light nausea, lightheadedness, off balance, blurred vision, fatigue, and so forth. can last a few days to a few weeks. it varies and has been off and on for 7 months now. i took cipro for 2 weeks, i noticed a few minor changes. i take daily probiotics. i eat a vegan/vegetarian lifestyle. i am a male, the lower abdominal pain and cramping makes my right testical hurt. my wife has the same thing as me so we know its not isolated, it's something that can be obtained or passed. i have had stool testing and blood tests that all came out perfect. taking a parasite test in  a few days, and starting a new dose of antibiotics that are specially designed for the intestines where as cipro is for more broad infections. i think its viral or bacterial personally, but have not found out what it is yet.

Hi, I am in same situation been on and off for 3 years . Been to 4 different hospitals the last hospital mentioned Sphincter of Oddi (SOD) which can happen even with all tests being normal. As such a delay on the NHS (I have been off work the last 3 weeks with pain and constant vomiting) I am now suing to have a private consultation with a specialist on Tuesday. Hopefully will start getting some answers. Try and ask about SOD, look it up it's not do wildly known there is a special scan for it. Hope this helps it seems crazy so many people with the exact same problem with no answers!!

Please everyone listen to this. My dad experienced all of these symptoms on this page and all of his gallbladder tests were normal! He didn't give up though...he actually ended up having a colonoscopy done and they discovered he had diverticulitis. Sorry if misspelled. It's an infection of large intestine and after they removed 2 ft of infected intestine he had no more symptoms and his gallbladder is still intact. I too am suddenly having what they think is gallbladder attacks at night and so far tests are normal. That's when my dad suggested I have a colonoscopy. Wouldn't hurt to ask. Good luck to you all.

I am a 43yo woman with a history of ulcerative colitis, although it has not been acting up in several years.  I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in Feb. 2013 and started taking Metformin.

In Sept. 2013 I started having sporadic pains in my upper right abdomen, just under the rib cage.  It didn't bother me too much, just an off-and-on thing, until Nov. 2013 when my doctor put me on a statin.  My cholesterol was "normal," but for diabetics they like to keep it super low.

Within a few days the pain in my upper right area was unbearable, and the daily diarrhea I had already been experiencing with the Metformin got much, much worse.  I couldn't eat a thing on Thanksgiving.  The pain radiates all the way to my back and sometimes goes to my right shoulder and jaw.

I had an ultrasound at the begining of Dec. and it showed I have no gallstones, but my liver is a little fatty.  My doctor said that my fatty liver could not be accounting for all of the pain I've been having.  I got off Metformin and the statin and am now controlling my diabetes through diet and exercise (and I've lost 50 pounds since last summer!)

But, still, this pain in my right side is awful.  It has been bad since I took that statin in Nov.  It is especially bad when I eat eggs or olive oil.  I'm seeing a specialist on Jan. 24.

It made me feel better reading everyone's posts.  I hope we all find our answers

I've had a pain on my right side for a year it's getting worse, I've had ultrasound ,blood tests and all come back clear,it hurts more when I've had greasy food, and puts me in agony the day after alcohol and i'm not a heavy drinker, since the pain I've been T total ! The doctor's thought it was gallstones now they are mystified ! I feel exhausted from it all now.....and yet again another trip to the doctor's tomorrow.

OK...I've had a million tests. It turns out I have IBS and, for whatever reason, the pain is concentrating in that one area near my gallbladder. Following the IBS diet really helps.

Hi I have the same problem and I have had several attacks of pain especially at night time I have done many tests MRI, CT, Ultra sound blood test but all came normal and the doctor said there is nothing showing up which can be treated but I was given Somac 20mg to be taken 1 hour before meal which does give me a relief but I have to keep it taking after few days and thats how I keep my self away from that bloody pain. And I have realized that I shouldn't eat fried foods and eat vegetables all the times.
