Over the past three years, I have had many gallbladder attacks. The pain and symptoms were pain under my right rib cage, radiating from the belly button and into my right shoulder. The pain was horrible and I've gone to the ER a few times, my GP and was referred to a GI specialist as well.
I have had numerous ultrasounds (all showed nothing), a upper endoscopy (everything looks normal) and a HIDA scan (normal). Next month I am going for a barrium test (?) for the upper bowels. Everyone says my gallbladder looks fine and don't see any blockages or stones. Yet, my pain was classic textbook gallbladder issues.
I have improved my diet to where I drink a lot of water/liquids and try to eat smaller portions of meals throughout the day and I do not eat after 7pm at night. In the beginning, I noticed the pain/attacks started if I layed down too soon after eating or if I eat really fatty things. So instead of having that second cheeseburger or piece of cheesecake, I only eat a third of half of something sinful like that. (Being such a foodie, I can't deprive myself but am very careful)
After these attacks, I feel so wiped out and emotionally frustrated. Does anyone have advice for me about diet, testing, etc?? Thank you for reading! Just talking about it helps. My boyfriend says it is just my having gas or eating the wrong things-I wish that all this pain felt like.
