severe pain on right side no gallstones seen

I have been having similar problems, my surgeon said the same thinyesterday, that it was up to me. My husband said have it taken out. Did you have yours removed? Did it help? I have been in on and off pain for 6 months, then a month ago it started being constant pain, it's miserable and the hida scan caused the same exact pain just intensified, the gb attack caused by the hida scan lasted all day and night. They recommended pain management for the next 6 months to a year then more testing, however I can not function like this anymore and do not want to depend on pain meds to get by.

A must is to have a HIDA test.. all about how Gall Bladder Functions ...I found out mine is not functioning at all...At least I know what is wrong now.. after 2 years of all sorts of Tests...All the best to you....JAD

i have pain in my wright abdominal but all tests are come clear last day i think may be that is black majeq so i went to the local mosque to imam i told him every thing he said me i saying any thing on if u feel beter that is majec if not that that is midical condion so he done now i feeling well from before
may mean some pain donnt have midical conditon

Damn, I feel like I'm in the same boat. I'm having the exact same symptoms. It hurts to breathe, lay flat, or when I turn. It feels like it's in my rib cage. I went to the er and they said everything was normal and just prescribed me pain medicine, something definitely is not right, last time I had pain like this it was pneumonia. Ask them to check for that, that's what I'm going to do, may go to a different hospital too.

I also get pain on my upper right side and noticed it was behind my breast bone as well. The doctor calls it costochondritis (I think I spelled it right) common in women. Inflammation of the breastbone and rib cage. It is irritated most through being emotional in some form. I also feel it when a storm is coming lol. Hope it is nothing more than this. God bless. My husband's right side pain started in 2005/2006. He had several tests all came back negative/normal. Then he had a kidney stone in May 2006. Pain remained after stone was gone. Finally had a hida scan w/gall bladder working 17%. Gall bladder removed late 2006. Pain still remains & getting worse. 2015 was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis/proctorial. But GI doc says UC not cause of pain but thinks it's muscleskeletal. Family doc thinks it's scar tissue. Anyone have a clue??!!?? He has been referred to pain management but that only some times helps the symptoms.

To let all of you know I am now 66 but when I was in my 40's I had this same problem. I was blessed because this was before insurance companies cracked down on letting doctors do procedures unless you were dying. I finally went to a surgeon. I told him both my sisters had the same problem before me and it turned out to be their gall bladder. He agreed to go in and check mine. Sure enough like my sisters I had sludge, not stones. My gallbladder had shut down. Apparently this doesn't show up on a C T scan but will cause pain. Let your doctors know this.

Omg I feel like I'm dying with this pain. I to went to the er my heart rate and blood pressure was very high. After pain medication it went down but after test they found nothing but my white blood cell count was elevated still in pain she gave me no pain meds bease she couldnt find the problem but knows there is one due to heart blood pressure and blood cells. I see pcp on Monday in the mean time I've missed 3 days of work so far I'm tired of being in pain in my bed what the hell can I do.

I've had this same pain since I was around 10-12 also. I'm now 47! I've had every test know to man and always get the same answer...nothing!!! At this very moment I'm laying on my left side with a heating pad on my right. I hurt so bad I can't stop crying. The last time I went to the ER, the terrible Dr told me point black that the ER was for emergencies and this was in my head! I'm sorry everyone here is experiencing this same thing but glad to know others have it too and not in my head!!! if anyone gets an answer please share!!!

Did you have your gallbladder out, and did it get rid of your pain? My daughter has constant and sharp pains on the right, under her to cage. Bloodwork, urinalysis, 3 ultrasounds, 2 Hida scans, endoscopy with biopsy and colonoscopy with biopsy ALL NORMAL!

I have been in severe pain on my right side, sometimes going up between shoulder blades, eating makes the pain worse, and sometimes being sick and feeling sick, I have had c.t scanner done and xray's and nothing is showing up, I don't get much sleep because of the pain, I am considering get a loan out to have my gallbladder out, as I can't live with this pain anymore, I have look at the prices that a private consulant charges and I know it is not cheap, but I just don't know what else to do

This recently happened to me as well. I've had a sharp, burning, stabbing pain in my upper right abdomen. I went to 2 different ER hospitals. All my labs, ultrasound, and CT came back normal! No gallstones or anything. The pain is so intense it takes my breath away! I felt like after the doctors couldn't find anything they didn't believe my pain, they even started treating me like a drug seeker. The pain is very real and scary, but even more scary not knowing what's causing it. They ordered a Hida scan that I'll have to have this week, but they told me they'll more than likely not find anything. I'm freaking out and not sure what to do.
