I have never had regular periods. I started young, around 11, and they were extremely heavy until I went vegetarian three and a half years ago. My PMS has been progressively worse and worse starting this past December. Horrible cramps, impossible to describe. Not a dull ache, but it's always there. There are sharp stabs every couple of hours that last at least thirty minutes each. My PMS lasts about nine days typically and leads into a five day period, typically. It affects my mood immensely, makes me irritable, depressed, and have insane mood swings. I'm only 16, and I recently visited a gynecologist to get this worked out. I have an ultrasound scheduled next week, but I randomly got my period just today out of nowhere, and it's different. It's super thin and bright red and smells almost sickly sweet. I'm not sexually active so there's no way I can be pregnant. Has anyone ever experienced this? What can I expect with my ultrasound? Cysts? Endometriomas? This just needs to stop, I can't work or concentrate in school. Please let me know!

Hi I actually have the same problem I've had my period since I was nine and the older I got the worse they got. Then I went to the gynecologist and starting taking birth control so I only have a period every three months maybe that might work for you too.
