Hello,

after I suffered months of knee pain while i was on simvastatin to lower my cholesterol, my doctor recently switched me to Tricor. Thankfully, my knees are getting better, but ever since I started taking Tricor, I’ve been experiencing for me unusual stomach pains that I assume are caused by acid reflux, but I don’t know for sure.

if there’s anyone on here who has experience with Tricor, will taking antacids help, or is this something I need to report to my doctor?

Hi,

my dad was on Tricor earlier this year and he had almost the exact stomach problems and his doctor first suggested he takes it with meals, then lowered his dose and suggested antacid but it only helped somewhat.

When I researched, it turns out stomach and digestion related problems are most common side effect of Tricor, so i suggest you talk to your doctor about maybe lowering the dosage or look into other options for lowering your cholesterol.
