severe upper abdominal pain and nausea after eating anything

My doctor gave me a list of foods to avoid.  Mashed potatoes, french fries, ice cream, coffee (decaf or regular), chocolate, mac & cheese, potato chips, etc.  This has really helped me.  I get really bad attacks after ice cream.

 

Hi my 16 year old daughter has had these same symptoms for 4 years now they removed her Gall Bladder 4 years ago and she had Pancreatitis. I have taken her to Gastrolenterologists , Emergency room, Gynecologist she had every test imaginable including a colonoscopy, she was doing ok taking Zoloft and amytriptiline for a year now all of a sudden she is in terrible pain again upper left quadrant, and throwing up for a week she cant hold food down been to the ER 2 times this week, dehydrated both times they gave her Promethazine for nautiosness but she sleeps all day and cant function please help im at my end watching my baby in severe pain and no docs can do anything ty

yours prob gallstones, same thing happened to me.. 8 mo after giving birth.. pregnancy messes up your digestion, makes it slow down, causes stones.. if pain is as bad as a contraction.. u may want an ultrasound to see if gallstones..

i have the same symptoms but had a full galbladder removel nearly 3 years ago . my stomache swells like iam 7 months pregnant and i dont pass stools very offten when i do i have mucus sometimes the pain comes in waves but when it comes i feel like iam in labour please help 

I have experienced this so many times...  Stress creates most of this. I know it as a fact, because when I go on vacation, to a calm spa, where I don't overeat and feel totally relaxed, I have no stomach pain, indigestion, gas... nothing.... Coming back to work, traffic, and regular life is a different story and I end up taking Zantac every single night.

I was diagnosed as a child with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA) which in adulthood can lead to a variety of other autoimmune illnesses like Crohn's disease, which I think I might have now in my late 30's. I currently have Psoriasis (an autoimmune disease of the skin) and chronic fatigue with fibromyalgia.. Have you taken your daughter to a Rheumatologist? She could be having an autoimmune response or an immune response to something, causing inflammation and these symptoms. Sometimes, inflammation won't show up especially on children in tests the first time, so you might have to take her more than once, or to more than one Rheumatologist to get a result. I went to a special children's hospital as a kid and they worked miracles on my JRA, helping it go into remission by my late teens with meds. My mom was open to all kinds of natural healing for me and they said it was okay to take fish oil which at the time was experimental but it helped; as did pro-biotics and raw foods i.e. smoothies, and a minimal meat diet (this was back in the 1980's when it was not cool to drink kale smoothies but I swear it made me feel good and gave me energy!)

Good luck in her recovery!!! Perhaps with the right treatment, and diet, she'll be in remission or "grow out of it" as I did my JRA.

My next step is to see a G.I. doc who will likely send me to Rheumatology given my history.

im afraid I might have the same problem but in my case i dont feel full at all. I feel like i have food stuck before it gets to my stomach. I was told in hospital that i have an ulcer but its not healing with omeprazole . at times i have what i can describe as bubbles/saliva and i have to constantly spit out.

Have you had your gallbladder checked? My husband had severe pain under his ribs on right side and after an ultrasound and HIDA scan revealed a gallstone ping pong sized gallstone blocking the bile duct of his gallbladder. He was sore from surgery but said it was nothing compared to when he did have his gallbladder.

have they done an angiogram for ischemic mesentary, it usually in older population but can occur at younger age
