I completely feel your pain. Have you found any solutions yet? I had to reply because I found this site before I found one and saw all the people suffering as I have. My guts felt like they were floating in space, in freefall, like I was on a rollercoaster, and they would wake me up out of my sleep every single night. IF I could get to sleep.

I have now found the solution for me, and I believe is the solution for all of you. You must read and do THE EMOTION CODE, by Dr. Bradley Nelson. Negative emotions literally get trapped in your body and cause all kinds of disease, discomfort, and pain. The pain in my abdomen woke me up every night and kept me awake all night. I started doing the Emotion Code in April of this year (it's now December) and now it's gone except every once in awhile in the morning the pain is vaguely there so I release some more emotions. There is a LOT in there. It takes time and effort but it's totally worth it because it works. All the diets and pills in the world won't do what this does. Once those negative energies are released, your body works properly as it should. Don't forget to release mental trapped emotions (which he doesn't mention in the book but are very important), inherited emotions (which seemed to have the biggest effect on my guts), and mental inherited emotions. Stick with it and you will be well and pain-free! It's literally a miracle!!! I'd love to hear how it's working for you.

Hi, i was just reading your post because i just had the same experience that I had as a kid, and they did take out my "perfect appendix" and I still ended up in the emergency room a couple of times after with this pain. Mine hits in the middle of the night, stabbing pains that start at a 5 and sore up to a 10, then go away only to start the whole thing over again for about 5 hours. I had to remind myself that they never found anything and i did not die so tough it out.
The only help I can suggest is: Food Allergy. I have very bad allergies to food and last night I did something I normally do not do, I had corn in two forms Chips and pop corn and followed it off with almonds. My understanding from my allergist is that it is the amount of food taken in that causes the reaction. I hope this helps, I wont repeat what I did last night.

I think this is a great suggestion, easy and no not harmful to your system. I have been doing lemon juice and tabasco, a natural liver cleanse. Now I will attempt the vinegar. I have heard of this helping your system cleanse in general.
Thank you for your post!

I have Chrons disease and one year ago I awoke with horrible upper ab cramping. After 6 hours and developing a low fever I went to ERIC. PcT scan showed inflammation ilinoon on infectious Crohns. It's a year later and I am recovering from bronchitis when this severe night cramping starts as I lay down. Comes in waves and is really bad for hours. Can'asleep. On prednisone and no response so I don't think Crohns. I also have a moderate hiatal hernia and a large diverticulum in the stomach lining. I'm on antibiotics and prednisone for lungs so that would effect anything infectious and any inflammation. What's left. I'm a zombie with no sleep.

Hey , I was just reading your post and I also had my gallbladder removed years ago. My doctor told me that if my pains return there it can mean that scar tissue has formed in that area and that it will need to be delt with. She said it happens actually quite frequently. So I would discuss that with the doctor who actually did your surgery. And if he says no way, then get a second opinion. Cause its very possible. What I find kind of coincidental tho is that I was diagnosed with chrohns disease and colitis after my surgery . Which IBS and colitis is very similiar.

It sounds so similar to what I have been dealing with fo the past several months. I also have cold sweats, which may be from the extreme pain. I wonder if any of you also get extreme foot/leg cramp (not at the same time), and if so, if there may be a correlation. Good luck to all...!! Looking for a reason this happens - and a cure.

This works for me, hope its gives you some sleep.

don't lie down within 2 hours of your last meal

don't drink anything during that 2 hours

If you awake and start to have pain, take-

4 -200 mg of tylenol [acetaminophen]

my pain is gone within 40 mins. only drink enough water to get it down, sit reclined, don't lie down. And you don't have to pay me!

This could possibly be Celiac Disease! Your symptoms are pretty close. Irritable bowl syndrome is often confused to t Celiac Disease. Try telling your doctors to test you for that! It might work hun. Well, I'm sorry for your pain, and I pray that you get better.

I have had the horrible upper stomach pains in middle of night. See I'm up now. Called out of work. Had three blood tests done at ER. They came back normal. So no more tests. I don't have my gallbladder. I see regular doc this week so hevcan refer more tests. Acid reflux is also what they determined. I'm in agony for about two hours. Then subsides a bit. No diarrhea till now. Just pain all week especially at night. Ugh just agony.
