I don't have any answers but a suggestion for you and me!

any of you have extreme fatigue as well? I has nausea vomiting and extreme pain both the area to the left everyone is speaking of and lower. after TWO weeks of sleeping..no work...and staying hydrated my dr finally found a UTI, the antibiotics didn't work and he didn't check. Went to ER they said a really. bad bladder infection...which I'm still on antibiotics have more energy. but excruciating pain persists..-and yes I've had scans workups etc all "normal."

I was thinking a few minutes when I was poking around (I'm a licenses massage therapist) there's a muscle right around there the ilipsoas (often referred to as the psoas) and can also give low back pain/tension/pressure. not sure there's a great source for self massage but there should be stretches for it on YouTube. if you are having pain/spasm in the psoas usually pretty tender to release the muscle (and it's deep so heating pads won't help). so I guess I'm wondering if anyone has seen a massage therapist (I'd think 30 mins would be plenty) or done stretches and see if that helps. I've had spasms before but not sure this feels quite like it and haven't this long (nearly 4 weeks) but its worth a shot! I'd be interested in anyone's thoughts/results.

In my experience doctors don't always think of muscular issues unless it's a disease.

thinking of all of you and hoping my pain resolves soon as well. if anyone finds out anything, would love to hear!

Had this same pain.  46YOM 207#.  Started as a stabbing pain that brought me to my knees, then subsided into a knawing, burning pain near the belly button, left side.  The only difference diet-wise was that I had started drinking some prepared Musclemilk protein shakes, so maybe some type of food allergy initiated it.  After a two weeks of not resolving on its own went to Dr. & he diagnosed gastritis, prescribed Flagyl, 500mg, 3x/day.  Side effects of this drug are difficult, but it seemed to help after a full week.  I still feel some soreness or bruised feeling in the area, but the pain is gone.  Eliminated all wheat and dairy.  Dairy did cause pain and bloating the one time I tried it.  Rice, potatoes, and some natural smooth peanut butter seemed to be the best staple foods.  Working on healing whatever type of lesion it might be & restoring the good bowel flora.  The pain did respond to antacids, so I'm presuming it was intestinal.  Hopefully it's gone for good.

I am also in socal and have the same symptoms that come and go for about 2 years now. After many tests and lots of $$ the dr.s still dont know whats wrong. Stress, lack of sleep seem to make it worse.

Juicing a small amount of cabbage daily for a month. 2 ounces, 2-3 times per day and it will magically go away. This heals ulcers.

I have pains like that and it is deep inside the stomach and has nothing to do with the bowels.

It feels like something small is being torn inside your stomach.

I too would like to know what this is. Guess I will have to go to the doctor.

I just had a baby 4 weeks ago and have the exact same symptoms now as you do (did). What did you ever find out? I would really appreciate your help. I am going to go to the OB tomorrow but just curious to see what happened with you.

Thank you for any help.

I got this pain a month ago, sharp tweaky and intermittent, an inch left of my belly button. It lasted several hours and went away. I got it again this week, after several hours it went away. I realized I got it each time a couple of hours after after eating an entire bag of potato chips, which is something I had not eaten for years before that. Both times I got relief from drinking a lot of water and having a bowel movement. I won't be eating potato chips any more. I think the fat in the chips was the problem. My diet is usually low fat/high carbs.

Okay, there are several causes which end up feeling that strange, constant pain behind and around the belly button 1. Sitting a lot ( stand up, walk and bend downwards for some time. You need to change your lifestyle ) 2. Lifting something heavy ( take a rest ) 3. Gas ( take anti-gas pills and review your daily menu ) 4. Pregnancy ( it will be gone after pregnancy if doing regular exercise ) 5. Prostate problems ( visit a doctor ) 6. Masturbation and erection for a long time ( change your sexual behavior ) 7. Straining to urinate or defecate ( change your food diet ) 8. Appendicitis ( visit a doctor ) 9. Large or small intestine infection ( you need antibiotics ) 10. Urine tract infection ( you need antibiotics ) 11. Drinking alcohol and caffeine a lot ( cut down on drinking alcohol and caffeine and have more water instead ) 12. Kidney infection ( you need antibiotics ) 13. Sitting in a draft ( keep your back, sides and belly warm for some time )
