Wow where do I start. I have always been a heavy bleeder. Even at school after my period first started I bleed quite easily through a super tampon and super pad within and hour. I hated going to P.E I knew that as soon as I got my heart pumping I would flood through my clothes. It was so embarrssing. Now I'm 27. I have had two children both by c-section and I think my bleeding is worst now than ever. After my last c-section my uterus wouldn't contract. My epidural wore off quite fast so it was so agonising when the surgeon had to push down on my pelvic area to push out blood clots because I wouldn't stop bleeding. I was then put on medication while in hospital for blood clotting. I continued to bleed at home but it was really light. Then 3 weeks later the flood gates opened. I could'nt drive anywhere that was further than 20min away from my house otherwise I bled through all my clothes. My midwife prescribed me some antibiotics and that stopped the bleeding. She said it was normal after a c-section to sometimes pick up an infection. I started going to the gym and working out. Half way through my work out I would flood everywhere. I would use a tampon but found that when I went to change it. There was hardly any blood. So I wouldn't use anything. After about an hour an a half of using nothing I would go up town may be just to supermarket and then Hello I would flood everywhere. Now 4 months after my baby was born it's still miserable. I've been back to my doctor twice now. Last time I went he informed me that I was on a higher dose of hormones with this pill. But the exact thing happened to me. I get about a week into taking them and then I start bleeding again. I tried still taking the pills and finishing the monthly tab but the bleeding continued and when I got to the sugar pills the bleeding got heavier like a period!!!!!!. With these new pills I stopped taking them as soon as I started bleeding then last night in the shower I had blood clots coming out that were also the size of a small orange. Can anyone help me!!!! please

Its certainly not normal to be passing clots that big.. If I were you I would seek medical advice from someone else. Having a period shouldn't stop you from living normal life. I would get a second opinion...

I have always been a heavy bleeder as well...since I first began getting my periods from the age of 12. The drs wanted to prescribe me with a contraceptive to regulate it but my dad refused to as he believed it would stuff me up even more. for almost the past twenty years I have experienced this. My cramps have kept me home from work. My bleeding is so heavy I dont like to move much or go many places when i have it. I double up pads to try and help and wear layers of dark pants to cover any leakage. I have had to stop using a tampon as blood still seeps through. The only time i was helped was when the cramping became unbearable. I was in and out of speicalist with no real answers either. Scans showed two polyps and a growth of blood vessels but thats it. I had all removed when I had a d n c last year. For 13 months i seemed to have what everyone calls a regualr [eriod with little to no cramping. However, the old cycle and pain has once again returned. i a taking provera - 5mg three times a day, but if anything it has intensified the bleeding and the cramps. I am also anaemic so I have to have iron tablets once a day as well. I have no children even though I have tried several times. This is my biggest heartache, not being able to have kids. After reading most of these threads and stories, I am somewhat comforted by the fact I am not alone. But annoyed that with so many of us experiencing this, why havent the medical professionals found a more substancial reason for all of this. Who is actually researching these problems we are facing and trying to find us some answers??? good luck everyone...if you have any luck please share so we can all seek more informed help when going to what seems like pointless appointments to drs and hospitals.
