DO NOT GET ALCHOHOL INJECTIONS. I had six myself. After each shot I thought it was better but it was the anesthesia that gave me temporarary relief. It started to hurt again so I got another shot. The injections destroyed tissue between the bones in my foot and my foot pad. It is IRREVERSABLE. The TISSUE DOES NOT GROW BACK. I live and walk with pain 24/7. I cannot wear socks that have any compression at all and have specially designed insole that help somewhat. Worst decision I was ever coaxed into by a doctor.

Hate to say this, I'm on #5 injections for my Morton's Neuroma, and my feet are worse than before. Only until recently, has my podiatrist considered getting me to have an MRI BC I'm a third-stage breast cancer survivor. My feet and heels burn everyday, I have acute foot pain w little to no relief. I was prescribed percocet 20 pills once during these painful treatments. Not once did my doctor assess my pain level to determine if I needed pain relief, and I certainly did. I'm currently seeking a second opinion and keeping my fingers crossed that it's not cancer.

Why not seek Legal Counsel?? Hire an attorney? We should collectively sue the manufacturer of this drug. Email me if your interested. This is rubbing people of their ability to use their feet! This is a Crime!

Please post a summary of your visit with the attorney. I would be interested in joining a suit affairs the manufacturer. I had multiple injections and now have a lame foot for life too. Thanks.

Totally agree, I have permanent damage and have received disability for my pain. It is totally unbearable. The shots did not kill the nerve but all surrounding parts of the bottom of my feet. I have also seeked professional advice and was told that due to statue of limitions I do not have a case. I would NOT recommend this procedure to anyone.

Omg, I'm sitting here in so much pain. Dr did BOTH surgery and sclerosing injections x6 & my foot still hurts terribly! He promised he would go back & cut more of nerve out if injections didn't work; they didn't work & he went back on his word & basically said well, he can't do anything more for me bc I have EDS (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome). He knew this from the beginning, yet treated me anyway, and yet now he's just kicking me out, using that as excuse?! Ugh! It's a soft tissue disorder where the collagen is faulty, and now - Just NOW- I'm hearing that the alcohol can damage your soft tissues???!!! Wth?! He said nothing about this. I'm getting a copy of my file then & I'm going to see what he's written down, this is ridiculous. I have a 3 yr old to keep up with & I can't even walk now & lost all quality of life... :'(

PLEASE DO NOT GET ANY MORE ALCOHOL SHOTS!! They destroy protective tissue and the tissue does not grow back. I had multiple shots and am now dealing with daily incurable pain for the rest of my life. The alcohol shots appear to work at first and then the pain returns and the doc gives you another shot - a vicious circle that keeps getting worse.. What it really is just the anesthesia wearing off and then the pain returns.

Concerned...Both of my feet have bunions, second toe overlaps on top of big toe, & hammer toes. My Podiatrist recommended an orthotic to wear inside my shoes & injection treatment for neuroma's to desensitize the pain in both feet. (6 injections total - 1 injection in both feet every two weeks). The initial injection caused swelling & pain & itching at the injection site. Felt like I stepped on a nail on the ball region between 1st & 2nd toe in both feet. The third injection treatment hurt & burned more than the first two & itched terribly after the numbing med wore off. The following day, both feet were swollen, itchy, & painful. My feet have the sensation like prickly needle pain after a foot falls asleep & itchy. I think I had an allergic reaction to the injection & called my Podiatrist who recommended Benadryl for the itch & elevate feet. He also said I should continue treatment. Not sure if I will continue after reading patient reviews. My feet are still swollen, itch, can't fit into shoes, flip-flops are tight, & hope all will subside soon.

I hadn't the same type of reaction only after several injections and now have damage to the tissue around the neuroma from the alcohol shots. A second opinion doc told me most neuromas can be treated easily with just a steroid injection but a lot of docs prefer the alcohol shots because the billing is for surgery and they make more where the other is just considered a treatment.
