I've been a bartender my whole life so I drink often and can drink a lot af times. But ever since my gallbladder removal five years ago I get violently sick with severe diarrhea the next day and bloating! It doesn't matter if I have two beers or eight beers one glass of wine or three glasses of wine any little bit of alcohol makes me deathly ill the next day

Hi, guest.

Alcohol can have different effects on people after gallbladder removal. The gallbladder stores bile, which helps digest fats. Without a gallbladder, bile continuously drips into the intestines, which can alter digestion and the way your body handles certain foods and substances, including alcohol.

Some potential reasons for the symptoms you're experiencing could include:

  1. Altered Bile Flow: With the continuous drip of bile into the intestines, there might be a change in the way your intestines absorb and process alcohol.
  2. Altered Digestion: The removal of the gallbladder can cause diarrhea in some people due to the constant flow of bile, especially after consuming fatty foods or alcohol.
  3. Changes in Liver Function: The liver processes alcohol. After gallbladder removal, changes in bile flow might potentially affect liver function and its ability to process alcohol.
  4. Alcohol Intolerance: Some people might develop an intolerance to alcohol, which can cause symptoms like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain.

Have you tried going several days without alcohol to see what will happen?
