HI all,

I actually went to a gyno yesterday and I knew I had it. The doctor told me that I have it and it's totally ok because everybody is different and I am just born with that. She didn't say anything about it being part of the hymen it's just an extra skin. She said if I want to I can go cut it with no problem. I also have a problem when i use a tampon, and will probably not be convenient to have when i have a child so I am going to go cut it sometime soon.

I'm 15, and i found that i have that as well. I kind of want to take it out myself, to save myself from any future awkwardness. I've found that if it gets hooked on your tampon, that you can kind of grab it an pull it a little before it starts to hurt. Is it possible to just rip it out? Or will that do some serious damage?

It's not a vagina hole.
The hole is  the vagina, the rest has other names. It's not all a vagina. Just the hole is.
Sorry not dissing anyone, just sayin.

There is nothing wrong with this. It is part of your hymen and it forms differently for some people. I had it too and i got so fed up of always getting tampons stuck that i cut it myself using a pair of nail scissors and detol. I DO NOT reccommend trying as it hurts a fair bit and since then i have learnt that you can get it removed professionally, but don't fear it is nothing to be embarrassed about, unless you are traditional and want to bleed the first time you have sex then i would recommend not using tampons until your first time.

After hours of online searches, and being convinced that my cervix is falling out of my vagina or that I have genital warts, I found this enlightening website (with pictures) that lead me to realize that everyone here and myself are completely NORMAL...We just never took the time to see what our vaginas actually look like!!!   ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** web addresses not allowed***

Hope this helps!

I have this too, i just went to the gyno to find out what it was. Mine is called a "vagina sternum".

Google it. Its kinda scary, can sometimes mean you have a "double vagina". I didnt know such things existed. I have to get an ultrasound to see if i have that aswell.

Yeah, me too! When I first used a tampon (around elementary school) the tampon got caught. Funny thing was, it didn't hurt unless I pulled on it, so I just used my nail to move it off the tampon lol

Hello, yes its very normal to bleed after, its just your hymen. some peoples are different and easier to break but you are perfectly normal, it will probably bleed alittle the next few times you do it :)

I don't remember what it's called. But I had it too! I noticed it when i first started getting my period. When I would try to take a tampon out it would get stuck on this vertical piece of skin. It didn't hurt or cause me any problems besides that. Then when I had my son, my doctor removed it for me. He said some women are born with it and it's just extra skin. Hope I helped.

every woman on the face of the earth has it, nomally broken the first time you have sex, it does hurt and bleed a little when broken but dont fear, this is completly normal. it does however help if you break it yourself before you do have sex for the first time to save the complication and akwardness. hope this helps.

good information..thankssssssss....you helped me <3

I hate to cause any more fear, but sometimes it does not go away. I'm 21 and have been sexually active since I was 15. No matter how vigorous the activity it still has yet to break or tear. In fact, just tonight that small loop of skin got stuck around my tampon. I think I'm going to visit the gyno again and have her remove it. Because sex and tampon use is still painful, even after 5 years.
