I'm on the tri-sprintec birth control pill, and me being the smartass i am, decided to skip my period, so i started my new pack and i skipped the placebo pills.. well i'm on my 3rd week of my pill and i'm still spotting and bleeding.. this started last monday.. and i'm going on vacation June 1st. i'm NOT skipping my placebo pills this week because i want to have my period, and start my pack like i usually would.. I can't do anything.. I really should have just dealt with it. Will my spotting go away when i start my new pack?? Will it all go back to normal??? I can't call my doctor today because her office is closed.

It has been recently discovered that it is ok to skip a period or two, but some birth control pills are not strong enough to do it with. Once you start your new pack it *should* go away. However keep an eye on it. If it get weird like heavier than normal, lasting more than two weeks or passing large amounts of big clots the. Call your dr. Also keep an eye on yourself. If you get shaky or faint then call your dr as this could be a sign of anemia.
I am also on Tri Sprintec and I purposely skipped my period this month too (I was going backpacking for a week). I had spotting for about 8 days (so much for having a hassle free camping trip!) then was normal, but yesterday I started spotting again. I am in my 3rd week of pills. I am hoping things go back to normal once I start the new pill pack, and if not I will call my doctor. Perhaps Deanaamenta is right, Tri Sprintec may not be strong enough
Hey I was on the pill I started in march but I always skipped the pill then I started to have sex with my boyfriend with out a condom. He came in me everytime we had sex in april I had two periods one at the first of the month it only lasted (3)days then two weeks later I had a period again that lasted (7-8)days in may I didn't have a period at all now its june and I started haven a dark brown discharge and dark red blood my lower tummie hurts so bad what can this be PLEASE HELP!!!
Ive been having the same problem, skipped my period but then came off the pills to have my next period and I haven't stopped bleeding! I'm now on my next period, hope its just my body adjusting to the hormones. Did the bleeding stop for you after your next period? I hope mine does
Same problem, Tri sprintec, tried to skip period, blew up in my face and i have been spotting for over a week. What ended up happening for you all? Did the spotting stop once you started a new pack?
If you skip a period using a birth control with "Tri-" in the name it will cause bleeding or spotting. This is because the "Tri" specifies that there are different strength hormones in every week. When skipping a period you want to make sure that you use one that has the same strength hormones every week(So without the Tri).

Ask your doc for regular sprintec. The tri has variations of the amounts of hormones each week. Gave me horrible cramps the week before my period when hormones are the highest. Got regular sprintec and have never been better! I can skip my period every other month with the regular sprintec too! But if I try to skip 2 months in a row the spotting starts. Just gotta get your body used to it.
I skipped my period just before Christmas because I was going camping but the whole time I have been spotting and still am nearly two weeks later. I start my placebo pills in 8 days as I have skipped having my period about 3 times as to occasions.. After having my period should it go back to normal? Please help.
I had the same problem. It lasted for 2 weeks and i took the sugar week and its gone. Dont worry. I think we cant skip that week but every 2 months not every month.
I'm not sure if I'm on tri sprintec I think I am but I also tried to skip my period. First month. Fine I'm on my second month and I've had my period for 2 weeks today. I started the new pack last night. I just want it to end :'(
omg this happened to me!!! i skipped placebo and a week later i was spotting and starting bleeding! its been a week and a half and im supposed to see my boyfriend this week!! I just want this to end already im entering my third week of pills. its not even alot of blood but its just annoying i want it to end, had to skip sex last week and im scared im going to have to this weekend again :/ anything i can do??

I am having similar brown/red spotting after skipping my period 2 weeks ago, I also have had unprotected sex since then, what ended up happening in your situation?
I’m going through the same thing and my husband and I still have sex. Cause it’s not your period your just bleeding but it depends on how you and your bf feel about having sex while bleeding.
