For years I've thought my lips were allergic to pepper because they hurt when I eat it, but I realized recently that the sensitivity is probably caused because I sleep with both top and bottom teeth slightly closed on the inside of my bottom lip. There is a very sensitive ridge (of varying heights) across the inside of the lip and that's where the pepper hurts.

Since I realized this, I've also found that, like now, my teeth are resting on that area, I think because I'm concentrating.

Is there a way to stop this -- something I could wear to break the habit?

Thanks.
