Hello. For about 6 months I've noticed an issue with my lips, upper lip in particular. At first, it would itch just on the vermillion border and then burn a bit. Progressively through the months and specially since 2 weeks, I notice more ''phases''. First, it itches, then it burns, then it cracks and I get fissures, they look flaky and I also notice it gets a bit dark. It's my upper lip in particular, although my bottom lip sometimes looks affected too. I've gone to a dermatologist and she prescribed Valaciclovir, which is for Herpes. She didn't say clearly that I have herpes, but she said that in 6 months I should stop having this cycle happening with my lips. I'm gonna get a blood test... Anyone with the same problem? Why can't I concretely know what problem I have, even going to a dermatologist???
