Six years ago, I had a bunionectomy.  I have no problem walking or exercising, however, my foot is always sore and very slightly swollen. It feels very stiff all the time.  The pain is not in the ball of my foot; the pain is in the joint of the big toe.  Massaging it feels great, but the relief is only temporary.

I am only 24 and worry I will have this pain for the rest of my life.  Has anyone else experienced similar pain after orthopedic surgery?  If so, what is the cause and how can I fix it once and for all?
