MRSA never leaves your body but the infections will decrease and eventually your body will fight them off. The infections have to run their course and it's frustrating and painful. It gets better though and pretty soon if you get a sore you will probly be able to take care of it on your own and may not even need antibiotics.

I am currently going through the same thing it's going on two years and the doctors act like they don't know what's going on! !! I recently got out the hospital after being there for four days with antibiotics given by a IV!!!! nothing has changed! !! This all started after Katrina and I haven't been right since! !!! I have a fungal ear infection with Mrsa....the Dr.s seem cavalier about it...saying not to worry its colonized...am I to understand I live with this forever with the hopes of never infecting anyone? Especially my daughter and husband?

Don't know if this will help but I have been dealing with ear infections for about 35years that I can remember, have had over 14 surgeries mastiodecomies, mryngyplastys attecotomys grommits you name it I've had it. Chronic pain, that horrible smelly discharge left me pretty low and not being able to hear and chronic tinnitus.....
About three years ago one of the ENT registrar's mentioned I had a sterile Candida infection so I went on the anti Candida diet... It's brutal no sugar of any kind (goodbye alcohol fruit orange veggies) and no yeast what etc... So basically green veggies meat eggs yogurt sometime brown rice or quinoa... Anywho after about three months my chronic middlenear infection cleared it has been amazing... I know it's not for everyone but I just wanted to share as I know how frustrating it is when the doctors are not too sure how to treat infections other than antibiotics which can do more harm than good....good luck to everyone

ive been dealing with this for 21/2 years i have an infection in my throat its taking out my vision and my hearing drs say oh well sometimes people lose thier hearing.you might want to consider ozone therapy it helps fix so many problems .take alot of vitaminc and i mean alot as much as your stomach can tolerate also take d3 500i.u and zinc 30mg,everyone is deficient of these two things .they will boost your immune system immensly .drs do not seam to be very helpful.if you boost your immune system you might be able to clear this on your own.ozone is an immune booster its called super oxygen .it kills all fungi ,bacteria,and viruses.

I'm going through the same thing....middle ear infection. Culture pending...Spent 4 day in hospital, on several I.V. antibiotics. Face head is numb, ringing ears, numb left arm...I've had at least 9-10 Staph infection, over past 10 years....Never in my ear though. I think STAPH lays dormant in your blood. I though I was having a stroke, E.R. PUT ME ON THE STROKE WING in the hospital. Had C.A.T. SCAN...M.R.I....I PRAYING THE ANTIBIOTICS, I WAS SENT HOME WITH (LEVOFLOXACIN 750 mg) will clear it up? I was told the infection has spread to my MASTRIOD BONE. IT'S TROWING MY BALANCE OFF. VERY SCARY. I'M HOPEFUL....BUT WORRIED, EVEN IF IT CLEARS, IM SCARED IT GOING TO KEEP RECURRING. POTENTIALLY DEADLY if Pops up on a LUNG...

So I wrote on her almost a year ago with my battle with MRSA in my right ear, going back and forth to doctors who just kept putting me on ear drops and antibiotics. Nothing worked til believe it or not I started using 91% isopropyl alcohol in my ear. I just took a cap of it and dumped in my ear and moved it around and let it drain back out. Started doing it twice a day, then as it started getting better did it once a day. I know doctors say it's not the best thing to do but I don't care because it's the only thing that worked for me and I was tired of dealing with this issue for so long. If it worked for me, hopefully it can work for others too.

have you got culture results back after being on the IV?! we are currently in the hospital on IV for 7 days after fighting mrsa in the ear on and off since May and nothing else working!

I had weird tonsil problems and congestion on my left side. Was thinking it was a bad tooth causing it but i recently bought this oxygenated water by manna water and put some in there and have had nothing but good things happen im hoping to see how i feel in a week from not to know if it really works

I have also done an ear and nose swab in Singapore and it came back with a positive staph aureus. He recommended me to take Augmentin. But according to my ent specialists in Australia, he said that everyone has staph aureus and told me not to worry about it
