Loading...

Just like the guest said, pap smears could detect HPV. Human Papilloma virus is virus linked to causing abnormal cells on the cervix, which could lead to cervical cancer.
Pap smears are not used for contracting std’s although HPV is an std. Pap smears are used to check for cervix, the beginning of the uterus. It is used for looking for infections, abnormal cells or cervical cancer and pap smears represent a regular test that is done during regular yearly follow-ups.

Regarding HPV, there are low and high risk HPV. The risk is associated with development of cervical cancer. Low-risk HPV (there are over 100 strains of HPV) cause genital warts on vagina, vulva, anus and high-risk HPV make you suspected of developing cervical cancer but it doesn’t mean that you would necessarily develop it.

Yes it will unless you have herpes. If you have herpes the only time it will show up is if you have an outbreak.
