whenever I consume an alcoholic beverage my stomach start burning and it is very instense it didn't do that previously but now it do anytime I drink alcohol what could this be?

I know this is a very old post but just found it. What you describe sounds like you may have an ulcer. Did alcohol bother you before? Another thing to consider is the alcohol content. My cousin can drink bourbon which has 40% alchohol but cant drink vodka that is 50% (100 proof).
If you've had gastric bypass then alcohol will burn. It irritates the remaining bowel even several years after surgery.
