Hi,
I've been on suboxone for a narcotic addiction since Sept. My dose is pretty low, 4mg, split up to take 2mg in the am and 2mg in evening.
My question is, I thought sub was supposed to help with cravings and somewhat prevent me from using narcotics? Well, I used the other day and did feel somewhat of a high, so now I'm right back to the vicious cycle of using again. Do you think my doc will want to increase my sub dose? Or has this happened to others? I am starting back on it today...and was wondering if I'm even protected at all.
Thanks.

Protected from what exactly?
your doc will only increase your dose if you continue to W/D physically

Be honest with you doctor. She/he will probably up your dose. You should really consider giving up the recreational stuff... Good luck!

Honestly bud.....Suboxone is helpful for getting off narcotics like pain killers but it is not a solve all! If you really want to stop the drugs you have to want to stop. Suboxone will allow you to avoid the withdrawal symptoms but it is very addicting and you will need someone's help to get off the suboxone. If can be very very helpful to get off the nasty stuff but remember it is very addicting and if you dont watch it all you will do is trade off one drug for another. Make sure your ready to quit and when you start the suboxone talk to someone, your doctor, a close friend, family member, wife, ect....make a plan and take your time when getting off, ween yourself off slowly but DO NOT trust yourself with the drug, have someone hold it and administer your daily doses!
