Hi on home drug test suboxne can show up as Oxy, I know this casue it happened to me, Do not be mad at your husband he may be telling the truth. I had an employer interview and could not find info on the web about drug test and suboxne I had been taking it for 2 years. I took a home test to check and came up positive for OXY I swear I had not taken anything but that so that was the only thing that could have been the issue. Everything was negative even teh opiate portion just the OXY one came up positive. So do be upset. I am a motehr of 2 boys who knows what drugs can do to a family I would not lie to you about situation. I hope all goes well with your family as well.

I personally spoke to an official from the website. She stated that if and only if the parameters of the drug test I.E. Urine Blood and even hair, that unless clearly deliniated it will not be compromised. The testing company needs to "Look" for /Bup/ active ingredient for a positive. Seem like even when you try to do the right thing it still works against one's own mind.....That was on 08/26/2008 @ 0921 EST.

I get drug tested monthly twice by my probation officer and by my addiction clinic I was addicted to oxymorphone, and was but on suboxone. I take 3 8mg tablets a day never once has it read a positive for my probation officer on a standard five test until yesterday that is..
I took the test put the card in we talked went in to see the results and he said why does it say you are positive for opiates when in fact I have not taken any kind of opiates except for my suboxone which is prescribed to me. My probation officer knows that I am prescribed suboxone and I said to him that there is no way and I will retake the test our you can send it into the lab because I have not done any opiates in half a year. So my probation officer says "I am going to assume that the suboxone is giving off some kind of reading because the line for positive was only slightly there." So now I am worried that my probation officer is going to have a sh*t fit the next time I take the test and it reads a false positive, well I am going to tell him to send it into a lab because I know for a fact I am clean and have been proud to be clean and think that suboxone has done miracles for me. The point of this story is that I tested positive for opiates in a standard nida 5 test. I am going to have to ask my doctor why this is happening because I really don't like it.
Any one else have any stories let me know please!

You are so full of sh*t I have been in IOP for over a year and I am allowed to take sub's they DO NOT show up as an oxy. Yes vixodin, percocet and oxy's all show up as an opiate but then the lab types it when it is sent out and can tell you exactly what drug you took or whether it was a false/positive test. They were able to tell me that I had xanax in my system and not any other benzo. They were also able to tell me that it wasn't my percocet from having my baby in my system but Oxy's. So don't lie to the lady. Sub's are not opiates and would not show up as oxy's they are Buprenorphine a completely different type of drug.

Does anyone have answer to whether suboxone shows up on drug test? My husband has been in recovery for 10 months from heroin addiction and is on suboxone. He just came up positive on a home drug test for oxycontin. Can suboxone show up as oxy or is he suing oxy. Need help I have an 11 month old baby and I don't trust him around the baby until I know for sure
I hate to tell you this..but suboxone can only be detected if you test for it..it DOES NOT SHOW UP AS OPIATES, MORPHENE, OR OXY'S
That is c**p I got tested for drugs in IOP it doesn't show a difference if it herion Oxys Percs Vics Buprenorphine or what ever. they all show up as the same cause they are all the same they are all opiates with different chem additives to it but all in all it all shows up as the same on a drug test. I know this for fact cause I have been beating and getting over court, state classes and Intensive out P. rehab.

Suboxone only shows up as buprenorphine and Na something. It does not shown as an opiate bc it is not an opiate since its is not made from opium duh. It actually keeps you from getting high from opium. It tricks your brain into thinking it has opiates and blocks them if you do take them. But if you are not withdrawling or addicted to opiates or even abusing them and take suboxen it will f**k you up or just make you puke your guts out depending or your tolerance to opiates.
It does have an half life but that doesnt mean it stays in your system that long, you have to be tested for it to even have it come up positive.
dont take it right with opiates if you are addicted to them because you will withdrawl you have to withdrawl from the opiates for 24 - 48 hours before you even take suboxen safely and personally if you are at a high dosage of opiates like 4 - 10 80mg oxys then you should start with subutex first which you can take right after opiates bc it does not block them from your brain.
and furthermore it is not the next methadone bc ppl on methadone are getting on suboxone to get off methadone. you cannot overdose and die from suboxone like you can methadone. the only ways to die from suboxone is to abuse it by shooting it up and mixing with opiates. suboxone also can be used for pain bc it makes your brain think you have opiates. the most suboxone will do is make you puke only if you dont have a substantial tolerance to opiates.
as for the thread he is using oxy and probably shooting it bc pills can be shot up to believe it or not. and ppl dont mentally feel they got their fix less they do it how they used to really, if you snort youll want to snort, and shoot youlll wanna shoot.
Addiction is very physical dont get me wrong but a huge impact of it is indeed mental and that is my problem.
and i know many very family business oriented ppl who had opiates prescribed for surgery and back problems that got hooked most do. and when the scripts stop or even during they are very expensive even on the street expensive so they might go from the scripts to the needle if they cant afford it to avoid being sick, ive seen it happen.
and they will lie bc its associated with addiction.
but suboxen shouldnt show in a urine test for 24 hrs.

suboxone is a drug to control pain? wtf are you talking about? suboxone is a small spectrum opiate. its not great for pain killing at all. for that you use a broad spectrum opiate. im sure somewhere somehow someone used or thought suboxone was good for painkiling, but its used 99.9% for opiate withdrawl.
unless you are dead serious about getting clean and plan on doing it quick, DO NOT USE SUBOXONE. if youre gonna use buphenex shots or whatever for 5 days, go for it. but the sublingual suboxone method of getting clean is awful. if you use it for too long, youre in big trouble. it gets to the point where you can be using a tiny amount, like .5mgs twice a day, and still get REALLY SICK when you miss a dose.
also, i get opiate tested by department of probation randomly, and have never had a problem with suboxone coming up. it has to be specifically tested for. ive seen my paperwork. i get the COT test, cocaine, opiates, THC. ive never come up positive for an opiate with taking suboxone.
let me just say again, unless youre really serious about getting clean and doing it quick, Please DONT USE SUBOXONE. and if you must, dont be an assh*le loser and insist on starting on some outrageous dose like 16mg a day. that should tell you right there youre not serious about cleaning up. i started at 8mg, tapered to 2mg, and now im stuck there for 4-5 months now. its AWFUL! i shouldve never stayed on SO LONG! DONT STAY ON SUBOXONE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD, AND DONT TAKE A HIGH DOSE!! its a NIGHTMARE!! just look at all the posts from the desperate people on here trying to understand why this "miracle drug" has f*cked their life up so bad!
i so desperately want to be clean from suboxone. i havent had the desire to get high or drunk in so long, and here i am still with this terrible addiction to something i thought would help. i shouldve taken it more seriously!!
all this started from me being a depressed, sad person. imagine what i feel like right now! im depressed, sad, lonely, scared, sick and hopeless. its the worst drug experience ive had in my 30 years on earth.
if anyone wants to talk, id appreciate it. clarks415 at g mail dot com. take out spaces of course. im told they dont like emails published here.

SUBOXONE WILL NOTTTTTTTTTT COME UP AS AN OPIATE.IVE BEEN IN MANY INSTITUTIONS AND PRISONS AND IT COSTS MORE MONEY TO TEST FOR SUBOXONE.BUT NEVER WILL IT BE MISTAKEN FOR AN OPIATE ON A TEST.

Seriously people....do some research..below is some credible information. Please see the source at the end of the explanation to check for credibility.
Does buprenorphine show up in an employer drug screening?
Buprenorphine has to be specifically tested for and isn’t commonly included on standard drug screen panels. Buprenorphine will NOT cause a positive result on tests for other opiates. The typical urine tests used to detect methadone, oxycodone, heroin, and other opioids check for a different metabolite than that found with buprenorphine and will not show a positive result in buprenorphine (only) maintained patients.
There are in-office tests specifically for buprenorphine that will detect it. These tests are not common but can be purchased on the internet, however we know of none that are CLIA-waved.
When reading in-office dip-strip tests be aware that faint lines are not ‘false positives” see this image of how to read this type of test correctly, and follow the manufacturer instructions: Reading test results
A typical employer multi drug screen might consist of a test for Amphetamine (AMP); Barbiturates (BAR)(Phenobarbital, Secobarbitol, Butalbital); Benzodiazepines(BZO)(Valium, Xanax, Librium, Serax, Rohypnol); Cocaine (COC); Marijuana (THC); Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA)(Ecstasy); Opiates (OPI); Oxycodone (OXY); Phencyclidine (PCP); Propoxyphene (PPX)(Darvon compounds); and Tricyclic Antidepressants (TCA)
Employers that expand their tests might include some of the following: Hydrocodone (Lortab, Vicodin), Methaqualone (Quaaludes), Methadone, Ethanol (Alcohol)
It is very unusual for an employer to test for buprenorphine, at least for now.

Just a short little reply. I have A LOT of experience with this. Suboxone will NOT show up in a drug test unless it is specifically tested for which you have to send to a lab to get results for. I get drug tested and take oxycontin and it doesn't show up as an opiate, it has to be tested for as oxycodone. They have different break downs. The two programs where I get tested, test for opiates and I was scared because I used oxy but I was clean and so I looked into it more and found out that at most places when they just test for opiates, oxy doesn't show up. Suboxone does not show up as oxy, Sorry. The thing is, lots of drug tests can have mix ups. Different people have different situation but if the test is right and its not just an accident then it wont.

First off You're a dumbass for sayin this.. Sub/Bup is completely different from morphine, methedone, oxys, percs and all that. Get your facts straight! I've been on both Methedone (for 3yrs)and now I'm on subox for 3 months so I know from personal experience and much research. Suboxone is a combination of Bupenophine and Naloxone and the ONLY way for it to come up on a drug test is if they SPECIFICALLY test for Bupenorphine. I take DOT regulated drug test 4 times a month and I know several people that are in TASC and Prob. That are on Subox and they have NO PROBLEMS with they're drug tests and if we did, I wouldn't have a job and they would be in jail! Now EVERY DRUG can be abused but if you're in a legit program and taking it as prescribed it wouldn't matter job wise or prob. wise because your not your own doctor and its legaly documented.
Now as for the first post I'm sorry to say I agree with the other post. If your husband came up positive for opiates, he's still on them unfortunately. But for the other guest, keep your 2 cent opinions cause you're absoltely wrong. While your on the computer do some more research before you post what you think are facts.

I had been on Oxycodone and Oxycontin for about 7yrs. I couldn't go more than about 12hrs. without starting to feel withdrawal symptoms I had to have at least 30mg a day to function somewhat, but ideally had upwards of 80-90mg a day every day. I started on them because of my back and knee problems, and had them prescribed to me up until about 2mths. ago when my insurance ran out. After a few days I got REALLY sick. A friend of mine knew what was going on and they brought me over some suboxone. Within an hour of that FIRST dose (8mg) I had NO withdrawal symptoms whatsoever. It helps a little with my back and knees.. I can function pretty good for most of the day. I have been forcing myself to wait until I start to show withdrawal symptoms to take another which is now about every 32-36hrs. If it weren't for my neighbor I wouldn't have been able to make it. I have my 2 little girls to take care of and it is hard. Job and Family services gave my kids a medical card, but won't give me one because my wife makes to much money. She gross's about $140/wk that is about $520/mth. But since she isn't the mother of my kids the max income a month is $514 for me to get a medical card. I know that is all irrelevant, but I had to say something about it. Anyways, I strongly recommend suboxone.
On a final note I do know for a FACT that suboxone will not show up on a drug test unless it is the 140-panel, which tests for virtually every drug available. Most tests are 5-panel with some 7-panel anything above those are very rare. So if it is any screen other than maybe a government job, pharmaceutical job, or law enforcement drug test you are going to pass. My mother-in-law works in a hospital and works in the lab that analyzes urine and blood drug tests.

The thing with opiates is that the longer you take them the less your brain stops producing its own chemicals. The less you brain makes the more painful the withdraw. There is no way to taper because if you use any amount your brain will not make its own chemicals. When you stop opiates completley then your brain can slowly start to produce your normal endorphines wich is natural morphine. Suboxone is a partial opiate and partial opiate blocker it is not excreted through urine it only shows up in your stool samples and i don't think anyone is gonna make you take a dump for a drug test.

Does anyone know what could cause a false positive urine test, both on initial screen and later confirmation by a certified/licensed drug lab, for buprenorphine [suboxone]? The individual in question was on oxycodone and motrin for pain relief for recent shoulder injury. He swears that he did not use suboxone or anything other than the oxy and motrin. He has diabetes type II, controlled by medication which he apparently stopped taking some weeks or months before this test result. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
