To all who don't know. The naloxone has no effect orally. The only reason it is in Suboxone is to prevent people who try to shoot them up from getting high. And if you have been on opiates for a while and have a tolerance, don't try to inject Suboxone, because you will quickly go into withdrawal.

Subutex does not contain Naloxone.

I have been taking Suboxone for 2 months now. I was taking 2 8mg pills a day. I have cut back to half of an 8mg. I ran out of my suboxone 3 days ago and am in horrible withdrawal right now. How long will this last? I am an IOP patient in a program called Drug Court. They said I can't be on anything while in this program. However, I cant go through withdrawals like this. Can they test for it?

If you make sure (i.e., watch him take it) your husband takes even 4mg of suboxone (sublingually, not intranasally, i.e., snorting it), there's no way in hell he's getting high off of oxycodone for AT LEAST 24-36 hrs, and that's the low end. He could try to take a hell of a lot of opiates to knock the subs off the receptors, but he'd probably overdose and die before he had a lot of success.

I called a drug specialist today at Rite-aid because my son's biological father tested positive for oxy on the at home drug test. The guy at Rite-aid told me that he will show pos. for oxy if he is on suboxone. So now that piece of c**p can use oxies if he wants too and blame it on the suboxone. The only thing he can't use is heroine because of the suboxone.

While on the topic of suboxone I too recently began taking subs in order to get off a bad addiction. I started taking viks, percs roxys than moved to 60mg oxys. I was up to about 100-120 mg of vicodin a day,to the point i was sick to my stomach half the day,but needed it to function. It stopped having an effect on me so that is why i started moving up the opiate ladder.I always knew i had a problem and used the old (i can stop whenever i want, ill slowly cut down) but that never happened. I heard about subs on a forum and decided to give it a try because my life was going down the drain . I wasnt motivated, always tired irritated and mad. When i first began using opiates it had the reverse effect. I was happy, motivated, energized and friendly. Not sure what happened or why the effects turned around.Anyways, I was able to get my hand on some subs from the same girl that use to give me vikes for free (go figure, she was in love with me and basically did anything i asked and had unlimited connects for any opiate) So within the first 12 hours of my last vicodin i took the sub. I was so surprised at how well this drug worked. I did not feel one withdrawal symptom while taking it. On a side note ,they say you cant get high if you take an opiate while on subs. I took a sub one morning than decided like a m***n to take the last 2 5mg vikes i had stashed away and i got high. Not a normal high that you get,but i did get a minor high from it. By day 5 i decided to stop taking the subs to see if i still had withdrawal symptoms and i didn't. My withdrawal was gone! Like an id**t,i guess mentally the fact that i had more subs available made me want to take them so i kept taking them for a week or so. Those who say you cant get addicted to subs is absolutely wrong.I took 8mg once a day for about 2 weeks. Yesterday i had to go somwhere for a day and didnt arrive back home until an hour ago. Around 6pm today i began having withdrawal from the sub. Diarrhea, sweats, aches, hot than cold.Though not as bad as an opiate withdrawal,i am going through a sub withdrawal.I stress,if you dont need the subs dont take them. If you do need it, take it for a few days, skip a day and see how you feel. If you are still going through opiate withdrawal continue to take them for a few more days. Stop when you can not take them and feel fine.A lot of this BS is mental,be strong. As for the topic,I would test your husband again. Like a lot of people said sometimes you do get false results. Dont automatically point fingers. Also,go by what you see. You should be able to tell if your husband is using heroin or opiates. Attitude, personality, and eyes are things to look for.look for things like If he is trying to avoid you, looks down while he is speaking or drastic changes from the last time he saw you.Good luck.

Whoever says it doesn't show up as positive on a HOME drug test is mistaking.
I know for a FACT it does.
I hadn't done any oxy's for weeks and I took an at home drug test the other day and OXY showed up.
I had been taking suboxone so that is what caused the positive reading.
I was in shock and now I know why it happened.
So NO, your husband has NOT been doing oxys, it's just the at home test.
If your that worried then go in to a doctors office and get it done.
But I can almost guarentee you he hasn't been doing anything but suboxone.
Especially since you CAN'T in the first place. (subs block your opiate receptors which means no matter what opiates you do you cannot get a high.)

whlie suboxone is used or prescribed for addicts,it is also used and abused by people who just want a good high. i'm speaking from personal expirence. i'm not a herion addict or on any other type of narcotic.taking suboxone by mouth or snorting it gets me really high and it's a high like taking a vicodin or percocet, however it's much more intense and longer lasting and seems like it could potentially be very addictive.wether it be mentally or physically addictive, both are bad addictions.i do understand this is a drug used to block out the effects of narcotics, but when your tolerence drops and that drug[narcotic]is out of your system suboxone will get you high and in some cases, really high!my problem right now is i've been told by people that suboxone don't show up on a drug test then by as many people that it does show up like a narcotic i.e,percocet,vicodin,oxy's.my problem is, i have a drug test possibly tomorrow at a visit to my parole officer.i really want to believe that it don't show up on thier standard test but my freedoms at stake ya know!so i'm taking any and all suggestings in this matter!another reason for my comment on this page is to say this,if you really don't know legit answers to questions like,[does suboxone show up on standard drug tests]?then please don't post a answer or response!my suggestion to people that are in my position. if you have a test coming up and aren't sure or really can't take take the risk then go to the hospital or doctor and get a perscription for pain pills to cover your ass.now that does'nt mean you have to take the pills that the doc gives you.you'll just have an answer to a dirty test!

i've been reading lots of these posts, answers about will suboxone show in these drug tests.well the reason i even started on this site is because i recently tried suboxone and stupidly when i had a drug test possible by two different parole officer's.so naturally i got really worried.the bad part is i did'nt know what to believe because about 50% say it does and 50% say no it don't,everyone seemed very adamant about the answers they gave.heres what i ended up doing about my situation.i looked up the website of the manufacture and got the phone number,i called them and spoke to lisa.i gave her the run down on my problem.she told me that suboxone does not show for any opiate because it is'nt a opiate,[synyhetic opiate].there is a test for this suboxone but is rare and too expensive for parole &probation to use.i went on to see my p.o 's,got tested at one not the other, nothing came up.to save lots of people the trouble here is that phone# 877-782-6966. these suboxone seems like a good drug for those serious about coming off opiates, however,it got me really f'd up and seems like for someone just looking for a high it could be danerous to do.it a person is'nt careful they could become addicted really fast!thats all for me people, good luck and god bless.

Does anyone have answer to whether suboxone shows up on drug test? My husband has been in recovery for 10 months from heroin addiction and is on suboxone. He just came up positive on a home drug test for oxycontin. Can suboxone show up as oxy or is he suing oxy. Need help I have an 11 month old baby and I don't trust him around the baby until I know for sure

I hate to tell you this..but suboxone can only be detected if you test for it..it DOES NOT SHOW UP AS OPIATES, MORPHENE, OR OXY'S

That is c**p I got tested for drugs in IOP it doesn't show a difference if it herion Oxys Percs Vics Buprenorphine or what ever. they all show up as the same cause they are all the same they are all opiates with different chem additives to it but all in all it all shows up as the same on a drug test. I know this for fact cause I have been beating and getting over court, state classes and Intensive out P. rehab.

thats b**l. subs and methadone both have specific tests or only show on extended tests. sorry to burst your bubble.

It does not show up as oxy or any other opiate. If someone says it has their full of sh*t and are probably still using. If your doctor is prescribing you suboxone then you have nothing to worry about anyway.

Good Luck

I have been taken Suboxone for over a year now and recently I got into some trouble and the court sent me to an intervention program. I am tested randomly for drugs and had no worries about that because I've been open and honest to the court and everyone else about my history and current treatment.

I can attribute to the fact that Suboxone will show up on some tests as Oxy! I haven't had a taste of Oxycodone or any other Oxy in over a year and a half and yet my very first test on the intervention program showed I had Oxy in my system. I was pissed about it and had an appointment with my doctor the very next day and requested a screening. My Intervention caseworker told me to come back for a retest the next morning so I decided to avoid any Suboxone until then. When I came back at 8a.m. the next day I tested negative for Oxy and my caseworker let it go at that. When I went to my doctor later that day I tested negative for Oxy when my test was sent to lab.

Now here I am 2 months later and had another test a few days ago in the intervention program. I took Suboxone about an hour before my appointment and wish I never would have because they gave me a random urine drop and low and behold it tested positive for what........you got it...OXY! I told my caseworker that I am positive this keeps happening because of the Suboxone and she told me she would drop it if I can have my Dr. write her something to this same affect. I went home and made an appointment with the doc and I go on the 23rd. My Dr. didn't seem too concerned with it before and I'm interested in seeing what he has to say about it this time.

One thing I can tell you is that I haven't had any Oxy in over a year and a half but if I take Suboxone shortly before a drug test it tests positive. However the strip test my Dr. uses doesn't have the same problem so I'm thinking it depends on the testing supplies, but some will definitely show Suboxone as Oxy....I can say this with every bit of confidence!
