I have been taking 2 8mg suboxone a day for about a year now. My doctor has been trying to take me off of it and keeps telling me people usually only take it for a year. I dont feel that I am anywhere near ready to get off. I was taking about 15-20 10mg lorcets a day for 4 years, and using lightly for 2 years before that. I feel that the suboxone has really saved my life. It doesnt make me high, it just makes me feel normal, like I did before I ever started using. I just feel that if I stop taking it anytime soon that I will go right back to using. I was just wondering how long other people have been on it, and how can I talk to him about staying on it. Everytime I try to tell him I dont think im ready to get off, he just says well you have to get off it anyway, so why not now. Does anyone have any advice, should I try to find another doctor? Thanks
