Hello,
As I sure you're aware suboxone is a drug used to treat opioid addiction. It is meant to reduce withdrawal symptoms when you stop using opioids. Nevertheless, suboxone can produce withdrawal symptoms of its own when you stop taking it. When you decide to go off suboxone, you need to tell your doctor. It has been reported that 3 days after you stop taking it, you can become very ill. Withdrawal symptoms include anxiety, depression, fever, sweating, muscle cramps, sleeplessness, convulsion and dehydration. The withdrawal period varies for each person. Your best bet is to cut back on your suboxone dose gradually to lessen the side effects.

Wondering why you wanna get off? Is it a financial situation possibly? If so, get generic Subutex from your doctor if you don't have insurance, its not expensive. I've been on the off and on subs thing for a few years and have scapegoated them to death for whatever life problems were going on at the time as its fundamentally a simple thing to do. I think suboxone is just like being on any other med really, except that it is actually good, it makes you feel pretty good. I've taken Paxil once for a few weeks and that was the worst godawful pill, I was astonished that such a pill could be an "antidepressant." The only true drugs with "antidepressant like effects" are opiates, uppers and downers. Let's get real here. Anyway off topic, I went to REHAB to get off subs, @ a dose of 2-4mg! I convinced myself it was the reason my ex had broken up with me. I had just moved to a new city and was overwhelmed by sudden change There was a ONE day relapse involved too...but, really, I was there to "get off suboxone once and for all" idignant that it was the cause of all my woes. 3 weeks inpatient. 3 days later I practically died in a motel 10 minutes from my sober living house, I don't remember it or about 4-5 days before and 3 days after "it." The overdose that went over the edge and by the grace of some insane GOD I was rescued and Pulp fictioned back to life, still with arrogant scorn, my God! During moments of clarity I would like to punch myself out. I stayed off everything for a little while after that, for a few months. It shook me to my core; I'd never really faced any consequences of my using, besides the breakup, until then. My memory was damaged and the fact that I'd lost several days was something I couldn't laugh off like a one night alcohol blackout. You can get off subs. To do it, wean down pretty low, like 2mg maybe less (people who do the liquid and stuff I think are just obsessing over it waaaay too much) 1mg optimally, then arm yourself with TIME, RELAXATION ie get sh*t done give yourself a good week of pure freedom, good DVD's, computer, water, and don't expect to sleep for a few days at least. If you expect it, then it will upset you and suck even worse. In reality you might not sleep a single wink in over a week, especially if you come down at 2 or thereabouts. But sleep is SO overrated! If your body is saying it doesn't need sleep, occupy yourself, which is easier said than done in that state, but try. If you have access to a gym, use it for the love of God it will be your true savior and the one thing that can both speed up the process and make it EXTREMELEY more tolerable. If you can, no matter how much it sucks, get to the gym. Before then, early on, take showers. If you can do hot and cold showers thats even better. It speeds up the detox process, it truly gets your blood pumping and moving. That cold, stagnant skin opiate withdrawal feeling sucks ass and ought to be avoided at all costs. Steam, sauna. And water, coconut water being the best, a lot of it. Depending on your relationship to benzos they can help a lot but be careful. And also they don't help THAT much so if you take like 2mg of xanax on day 4 and dont sleep, thats normal. Just hope they calm you down. Thats personally why I think they are more useful during the annoying days during w/d. Suboxone withdrawal lasts a long time. Its not gonna suck as bad as H or oxy or norco or whatever other version of the molecular structures revolving around morphine your on but its not pleasant. Exercise, hydration, and hot/cold therapy, combined with short term benzo course is your best bet. GOOD LUCK!
