Today, for the first time in my life, I momentarily blackout out (for a couple of seconds) after bending over to picking up some papers. I was a little light headed to begin with from having not eaten anything or drinking anything but two cups of coffee (duh, not smart on my part!). This was close to noon. All I remember was slowly standing up and the next thing standing a couple of feet further away. At first when I came to, I was a little confused as to where I was. I was SO freaked out!!!!!
I'm almost 59 years old. I take several psychotropic drugs and much of the time on an empty stomach. (again duh!). I try not to eat much because these drugs in the past caused me to gain a great deal of weight and I had to really fight to get it off. Anyway, I've been very dizzy and fuzzy for awhile now, stooping over is often quite a buzz. I've had palpitations my whole life but they've gotten much worse lately. But I've also been to the Cardio doc probably a hundred times my whole adult life and had every procedure they can possibly do including going into the cath lab and overtyping comes out fine. I get short of great a lot I get rapid heart beat, a lump in my throat and just an overall feeling that "there's something wrong" that they just haven't discovered yet. Ho Hum! Anyone out there going through these things??

If you suffer from palpitations, why would you drink so much coffee? I have given up coffee for life, because it makes my heartbeat rapid and uneven.
Most of your meds should probably be taken with food (check labels). Why are you playing games with your health? You are a valuable person, start acting like one.

I too take several psych drugs and within the last year started fainting when standing up too fast or bending over for 20-30 minutes. It started gradually to concern now. Although I do not have your symptoms, I do suffer increased anxiety and panic. I am also on a drug for hands shaking which isn't working.. So, after almost a year I made an appt with a neuro motion Doc at Northwestern hospital in Chicago, IL.. I've had my heart checked with multiple testes including heart catherization. In addition my blood pressure was tested. From lying down to sitting up to standing with no issues. I wore a 30 day heart monitor and heart was fine. I wasted time thinking physicians in my pop 100. 000 town would do more than rack up insurance charges. So I'm taking a leap of faith in seeing a reputable specialist. At least if they cannot help will direct me to the right specialist in their extensive network. For now, I do not stand up too fast and don't bend over. I also will be seeing a more reputable psych.
Your not alone, hang in there and seek out specialists. Hopefully one of your docs can point you in right directions via Mayo Clinic, John Hopkins and probably some university hospitals in your area. Unfortunately, we have to do the research our docs are too lazy to do. Good luck and God Speed my friend

I had a blackout on my feet after bending over and started moving my feet but didn't fall down. Is this serious?
