Couldn't find what you looking for?

Is it true that it can happen. I read it in a medical book about pregnancy. That eating ALOT of sweets can make a pregnant woman loose weight during pregnancy and cause the baby to have allergies when born.

Are you thinking "gestational diabetes" or high blood sugar in pregnancy?

If so, weight loss is a sign.

It's not very healthy for either the mother or child though. You don't get it by eating sweets, it's a result of hormones in the mothers body interfering with insulin in her blood stream.

Few children have allergies when born, their immune systems are still developing. You need to be sensitized first, develop antigens. That's why, for example, you can get stung by a bee the first time and have no problems yet the second time, you may have a full blown allergic reaction (anaphylaxis).

Hope it helps.
