Within the past week, I have had a painful discomfort during sexual intercourse and just yesterday I noticed a small lump on the left side of my groin with upon some research I determined to be a swollen inguinal gland. Also yesterday, I realized my vagina had a foul smelll :$ and I just don't know if these are all related to the same source or what this could be from? Please let me know. Thanks :-)

Hi Haylee,

The lump that you have on your side of groin is a lymph node. And it is swollen because your body is experiencing some kind of infection. You said that first time you felt something was during your intercourse. Were you using any protection? This might be caused by some kind of STI they you might caught during the intercourse. And the lymph node is just reacting as it should when the body is infected.

This can be an yeast infection, but it can be something else. The thing is that it can go away in matter of few days on it’s own and the lymph node will go back to normal. However you could use some antibiotics to help with the infection.
