So last fall I noticed a lump under my chin. I went to urgent care, and the doctor there said that it was just a swollen gland and gave me some antibiotics for it and said to get it looked at again in about a month. Well, it seemed to get smaller, so I never went in again. Now tonite I noticed that it is still there, though it is much smaller than it was before. Is this something I should be worried about? %-)

Hello Majin.
Doctor probabaly suspected that swollen gland under your chin is lymph node enlarged due to bacterial infection, thus he prescribed you antibiotics. You have to be patient and finish the round, because antibiotics need sometime to kick in. If the good thing is that swollen gland is smaller. The reason to be worried would be if the gland under your chin isn't changing size or if it's growing. However, that still wouldn't be reason for panic. The gland is getting smaller which means that antibiotics are effective against the infection.
Taking the location of the swollen gland (under the chin) into consideratio, I also suspect it might be some sort of infection of submandibular salivary gland. If that's the case, it's probably bacterial so the antibiotics will help i that case too. Problem could be stones in salivary ducts, but I highly doubt that because salivary stones manifest through different symptoms.
