Hi! I also had the weirdest symptoms when I quit smoking. I haven’t been using anything to help me get over, I just quit after 8 years of smoking.
What I experienced was chest pain, but it wasn’t like real pain, more like a discomfort, a pressure.
I was also coughing all the time and had a sore throat.
But they haven’t lasted long, coughing continues for about 2-3 weeks but sore throat and chest pressure was gone in a week or so.
I was reading that these withdrawal symptoms were normal and that it is recommended to drink cold liquids and those hard candies you have been taking.
My doc, whom I saw about the matter, recommended me a diet. The same diet as if I wanted to lose weight. No sugar, sodas, red meat, sweets. A lot of plain water, sugarless tea is also ok, lots of fruits and vegetables to help get rid of the nicotine sooner.
How are you feeling after two weeks of not smoking? I haven’t had strong cravings, and when I would think of a cigarette and my perfect cup of coffee, I would immediately erase the picture from my head and it worked. I haven’t been smoking for two years now and to be honest I have bigger cravings now. They are not so often but they appear. I even took a cigarette twice during these cravings just to see what it’s like and it was awful, the same old awful feeling when you are first trying a cigarette. It made me sick both times.
I hope you manage to get through with this!
