Hi,
This has happened to me enough times now to think I have some sort of condition: when I fly, 12-24 hours later I develop swollen glans and tonsils with a minor sore throat. I feel as if my throat is closing up. In addition, I feel tender and tired, as if I'm getting the flu or a throat infection. However, another day later I make a full recovery!
In addition to this, when I was 10 (I am 35 now) the same thing happened after scuba diving - my throat closed to the point that I almost couldn't breath. This also happened when I was 14 after I spent a day walking at altitude and not dressed warm enough on a mountain.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
I have the same problem. I usually get a sore throat and some kinda mild flu-like disease for a one or two days. I've heard this is because of recycled and dry air in plane. Wearing a mask and taking a vitamin C can help. although i didn't try it yet.
Take care
