There are various posts about how common it is for boys to begin sleeping nude by the time they've hit puberty. Do any of your teenage daughters do the same? Seems like more of a "guy thing", but I'm wondering if it might be just as common among older girls and young women. I know both our sons (13 and 18) do, and our daughter (16) has recently begun sleeping with her door locked, so I can only assume she does now too.

I have no idea about our teen daughter, but I know many women who sleep nude, including my wife, a few former girlfriends, several female friends, and my sister. It doesn’t seem like it’s much different whether you’re male or female (I know for sure my teen sons also sleep naked, as have I since that age).

Yes, I think it's normal for girls and young women too. I am single mother - and I am not a nude sleeper - but my 15-year-old daughter has been sleeping naked for a few years now. She hates wearing clothes to sleep! She says she just sleeps much better and feels more comfortable when she is completely naked. I have talked to some other moms, who have told me, that their teen daughters are also nude sleepers. Maybe it's more a generational thing than a gender thing?

All four of my kids sleep nude - 2 boys and 2 girls ranging from ages 12 to 18. I think it is partly a generation thing because they say all their friends sleep that way too. I think it also has to do with entering puberty and discovering sexuality as much as it does with comfort and wanting to be like everybody else.
My wife and I both sleep naked too and always have since that age. If I’m being honest, the sensual/sexual thrill was the initial reason, then once you start, you never go back, and here we are in our 40s! It’s probably something that’s always been common among teenagers and a lot of adults but just wasn’t talked about as openly until now.

OP here. Yes, I know she does now. I took her shopping with two of her friends a couple months ago and we happened to be passing the nightwear section and it came out that all three of them indeed sleep in the nude and that “duh, everybody sleeps that way, Mom!” Lol. I guess I got my answer. Seeing how I’m apparently the lone oddball in my household, one night I just might find out what all the hype is about!

Mother. I know my sons do because my husband goes in to wake them up in the morning and they often get out of bed totally nude while he’s still in the doorway talking to them. They’re quite casual about it in male company because they learned it from seeing him do the same.

Seems to be quit common for teen girls too. Nice that you were able to have a casual conversation with your daughter and her friends about - and you can safe some money on sleepwear :-).

I've been sleeping in the nude since I was a senior in High school but I was 18 I don't see a problem unless someone else in the home is bothered by it and they may feel it's inappropriate. My step father mother and younger brother didn't sleep that way I was the only one but It was ok with everyone else at that time until I moved out and it wasn't an issue anymore anyway.
