I have had this a few times now and have started to worry about it. At the time it comes on very quickly with a gripping pain bewteen my shoulders blades and go's through to my breastbone.It seems to contract strongly and after a while eases off.Leaving a bruised feeling in my back.Is this something I should see a doctor about.? Many thanks

I think that you may have a stomach ulcer. I know that I have similar symptoms and in the past found that to be the cause. Not very pleasant but very effective is drinking raw cabbage juice. Alternatively a doctor can prescribe antibiotics for h pylori which is often found to be the cause.
