I‘ve been having pain for past few months in thoracic side of my back, but more in and around the shoulder blade. Recently it started radiating in rib area. Sometimes I can’t stand it and I have to take pain killers. I don’t think I have damaged discs in spine even though I have some similar symptoms to spondylitis. What it can be? Any suggestions?

I had similar pain in upper part of my back, so I went t doc and did x rays and ERS show no problems, except for an unusually straight neck and back. However, I do have unusual swelling in the right side of my back, just below the shoulder blade, thoracic spine, but this is only prominent during seriously bad pain. I can not get a doctor to regularly prescribe pain medicine, because I will become addicted to oxycodone or whatever.
