For a month and a half, every time I drink water my throat tightens. It is only water that makes my throat tighten and it doesn't matter what type of water it is (bottled or tap) it still has the same effect. I've asked an online doctor and they suggested it could be dysphasia, but I've researched it and all the suffered seem to struggle to swallow and swallow food - I only struggle to swallow after I've drunk water. I would go to the doctors but my parents don't think it's 'enough' to go to the doctors. Please help!

I am having the same issue. Other liquids do cause slight irritation, but water is the absolute worst. My instinct says it's a chronic seasonal allergy issue, but with no other symptoms I just cannot be sure. Not to mention it simply makes no sense that just plain water of all things is such a trigger! I hope someone has some info for us.

I roo am having a sumilar issue after drinking water. Dry, scratchy, mildly irritating sensation in my throat. I find its worse wirh bottled water. I finally decided to check online and was grateful to find these posts because I started to believe it was all in my head because after all, how could plain water cause a problem? I have to say that I dont usually have a problem with fiji bottled water . I wonder id it has something to do with the quality of the bottle or the alkalinity of the water. I might try a low alkaline water to see if it helps.
One other note: I did read here online that it could be dry throat, even though Im drinking more water some days, but I do have an uncontrollable tendency to mouth breathe in my sleep at night. I did get a chin strap to help me with that, but I will continue to investigate the cause and remedy for this uncomfortable symptom.
