For the past 4 months I have had a throbing between my legs in the grown area when sitting, I am a woman 61 years of age. When I set down the throbing starts, when I stand up it quits. There is a tingling around the right lower hip and goes down the right of my leg when sitting. Help!

Sounds like sciatica. This is a nerve, and when it's compressed, it sends pain into your lower back and leg. I wouldn't think it's your tailbone. See your dr. he can give you muscle relaxers to help with the discomfort. In the meantime, soak in warm water and try to put most of your weight on the other side when you are sitting. Also, sit on a cushion, this will put a soft barrier between your fanny and the hard surface of the chair.
