Day 1- approximately 2 hours after the surgery, (after I urinated), I was on my way home.. ( I don't remember the ride home, thanks to the anesthesia) When I arrived home I went straight to sleep for about 6 hours...when I woke up I was in excruciating pain...so my mother gave me my liquid medicine to take...that alone was very hard, I didn't want to swallow anything, not even my spit!!Day 2-4 I kept my self hydrated even though it felt like "near death" swallowing. ( I took my prescribed medicine as directed every 4 hours) I didn't eat at all, I didn't want to eat at all.Day 5-7 I started eating pop sicles to curve the little appetite that I did gain back! (it worked) (continued taking medicine as directed).Day 8-9 instead of the pain being "Excruciating", it summered down to horrible!! (still took medicine and ate pop sicles)Day 10-11 my scabs started to fall (perfectly normal) and the pain subsided even more!By day 12-15 I had minor pain (5) but it was bearable! I'm now on day 17 and I feel a little back to normal! I still wake up with a sore throat but I wont expect that to stop happening for another week.... Sorry it was short and simple but GOOD LUCK FELLOW TONSILLECTOMY /ADENOIDECTOMY patients.... & remember that there IS light at the end of the tunnel! I promise
