I wish I had better news to tell you, I had my entire thyroid removed 11 1/2years ago when I was 34 I had a period for 3 years and my gyno claimed after my last period that I was in peri-menopause and I stayed there until my 45th birthday in limbo with no period
and now I would do anything to go back
I am in full menopause and I cannot have coffee, alcohol, milk, sugar, vegetables, you name it and I cannot digest it or keep it down if it even is able to be swallowed.
Only your gyno knows if you have viable eggs but you will have to do it the scientific way not the old fashioned way. I personally still have the last box of tampons I never got to use.
The good news is I can tell you that where you are isn't a bad place.
I now weigh 79 pounds and nothing fits me and I have to eat hamburgers plain and French fries or tacos only unhealthy food anything from a cow, chicken, buffallo.and turkey
Good Luck to you

I am so glad I found this post. I had total thyroidectomy 6 months ago due to thyroid cancer. My hair has thinned and my iron it low. I am on150 thyroxine and coming from having awful heavy periods to increasingly light. Doctors aren't concerned but still feeling so tired. I am going to have iodene radiation treatment do but worried as iron and calcium very low and no one concerned. Any advice please

I'm a 50 yr old female had a total thyrodectomy 8 years ago ... Never felt the same had nerve issues with neck surgery and 2 years ago cancer spread to lungs !! A year ago was diagnosed with bowel cancer no family history . I believe after many radioactive iodine therapy treatments caused my bowel. I read in the U.S. some patients are given laxatives to get rid of the radiation as it states sometimes it causes colon bowel cancer go figure. I wish Doctors would care more about the state of mind of patients a synthetic hormone of thyroxine isn't going to replace your thyroid !!! Thyroid is needed in the human body that's why we are all feeling like c**p !!!

The sad thing is I always felt strange after surgery and didn’t know I was pregnant till I had bleeding.

Hello, I truly feel for you. I am in the same situation, exact situation. I want my cycle back soo bad. I want to feel like a woman again! I just do not think it’s healthy either. I can tell that I am aging faster and hate it but try everything possible to reverse things.

Hi everyone! I'm 21 years old and I had my total thyroidectomy 2 years ago and I've experience the same things like irregular menstruation, gaining weight, muscle cramps and insomnia. I was worried but not until I read this post, I was relieved I thought something is wrong with me down there. Thank you anyway. God bless us all!

Why is my menstrual cycle so heavy that I've been cramping and bleeding for 2 months? I'm 47 and had a full thyroidectomy a year and a half ago.
