I had a tubal ligation done 2 years ago. I got pregnant 2 months later. I did terminate the pregnancy, then had a Mirena inserted. I have gone without any complications since then, but now I am having problems. I am 39 years old and am experiencing perimenopausal symptoms. I am having night sweats, hot flashes during the day, vaginal dryness and pain during sex, I am also extremely moody. My GYN placed me on Enjuvia. It has taken care of the hot flashes and night sweats and the moodyness, these were the two worst symptoms that I was having. The problem I am having now is that I have gained 12 pounds in the past 2 months of using the Enjuvia and I have constant headaches. I am very concerned with the weight gain and not sure what to do about it. The headaches are manageable on most days by taking Tylenol as needed, though some days I can not get out of bed or stand loud noise. I am just not sure what to do and the doctor has me trying different things. Is there an easier solution to this or is it just something that I have to accept and move on and live with. I am seriously considering a hysterectomy. Any advice?

The doctor called me yesterday afternoon. She reduced my Enjuvia to 0.625 instead of taking the 1.25 mg. She said to try this for a few weeks up to a month and if I still have the headaches then we have to try something else. I take the pill in the morning so I have no idea what the difference will be yet. I can tell you that I do not have a headache just yet, which I usually have one by the time I get to work an hour and a half later. I will keep you updated when something happens.
