I am so glad to know I am not the only one having these symptoms. Has anyone received a diagnosis?
I am a 31 year old female. I had my first episode of vertigo about a year and a half ago and it went away in about 20 days. This past Memorial Day the vertigo came back. My doctor had told me that I could get it again. This time the vertigo seemed to last about 15 days and I thought it went away. I started feeling that funny feeling again and I realized I could not distinguish if I had vertigo still/again or if it was something else. Its been 9 weeks since I started feeling the vertigo symptoms. My GP sent me for an MRI which came back clear, then on to the ENT. The ENT did a ENG (electronystagmography) test, which shows the balance of your inner ear with your eyes. They said there were some abnormalities with the test so now I am going to do a CDP and a VAT test. I am not sure what to expect from these tests if anything. I am getting very frustrated with feeling this way. The best way that I have been able to describe my symptoms is I am buzzed drunk all the time with no appetite. If anyone has any advice or diagnosis suggestions I should be tested for please let me know.
Thanks

I am a 49 year old male. My symptoms started 2 years ago. They occur a couple of hours after physical activity slowly progressing to all symptoms simultaneously. I used to do triathlons, including Ironman Florida in 2005. At this point I can not walk for more than 30 minutes without severe symptoms. And symptoms can last for 3 days.

Symptoms include headaches in the back of the head, stiff neck, nausea to the point vomiting, dizziness, vision issues, hearing problems that sound like some one is turning the volume down then up at 1 second intervals and here's the weirdest one, when I stand up my hamstrings feel like they are on fire for 10-30 seconds.

I had multiple MRI and CT scans with no causes found. A cyst was found in the jaw on the first scan and has since been repaired. I have been prescribed numerous anti-inflammatory and migraine meds with no change. I also saw an ENT thinking Meniere’s disease, but it too came back clear.

How is everyone feeling? I am a 23 year old female. I have been having these symptoms for about two years. Could be few causes, but symptoms change, however it's been mainly the balance issue. I never really had good balance. I think it's all to do with head misalignment, as I have scoliosis, so my nerves are getting pulled, and this is due to my bones being uneven on left and right. Also, I had trouble with shortness of breath a year ago, turned out to be anemia from iron defficiency. But that's better now. I was also low on vitamin D. I think I am very skinny, I eat all the time though. So my muscles are pulling on important structures in my body, though my mum thinks I have anxiety. I've never been like this. I feel so dazed all the time. Sometimes I think I was born with some genetic condition, and it's just presenting itself, as that's the usual theory.. Also, I hit my head a year ago really bad accidentally right in the forehead, though I didn't faint. Feel like it's unstable since. But who's gonna beleive me, my MRI was normal after few months (which is when I remembered it could be all from the hit). I think it's all C1 instability or some type of brain inflammation (which apparently heals on its own in time). And also all the above things mentioned. It's like a snowball.. I wish you all the best, and I think if you just relax and not think about all these things, you will pass through it. Oh by the way, another possibility I read about is sleep paralysis or a delayed sleep phase? So as long as we do not worry, hope it will all be ok. Goodluck, all the best!

I am as frustrated as everyone else, it seems.  For the past year I have had consistent dizziness, numerous sinus infections (which were treated with antibiotics), EXTREME fatigue...to the point of having to find a place to take a nap at work, and major head-heavyness.  I've also had some headaches, though they haven't been terrible.  ENT said everything looked fine. Primary MD said nothing appears to be wrong...except for possibly Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (which doesn't usually include dizziness). Oh...and I eat healthfully (vegetarian diet) and exercise regularly, yet I am gaining wieght!  I am stumped and highly frustrated.  Anyone...???

I have been suffering with this unexplained "dizziness" for 6 yrs now.  I was driving a long road-trip when mine began.  My weird feelings usually last from 1-2 weeks and happen every couple months.  Nothing, that I've noticed, is a trigger because it happens whether I'm doing something or sitting still at any given time and last anywhere from a few secs to around a minute.  It usually happens sporadic but sometimes it just keeps happening over and over throughout the day.  I can always tell when it is going to happen because my eyes start feeling funny and feels like they're crossing and just spinning around and around and then it feels as though this pulsing wave of dizziness will start at forehead and go to the back of my head and then, comes back from back of head to forehead.  And when this all happens, it feels like my temples are pulsating and feels like I'm blacking out for a split second.  It makes me very nauseous and leaves me with a feeling of not feeling good.  I had a VERY bad case of strep throat a few months before all this started happening that warranted a penicillin shot at the er and double dose of penicillin pills before I left there.  I was on no type of meds when this dizziness started happening to me but, within a few months of this starting, I developed a whole galore of different symptoms that I'm on meds for to this day.  I  suffer with torticollis every few months, fibromyalgia, diabetes, carpal tunnel, tmj, sleep apnea, arthritis, panic attacks/anxiety/agoraphobia, and have sensitivity to light at night and certain smells.  I do not really suffer from many headaches though.  Just occassionally and when I do, it's severe and lasts for few days. Has anyone else suffered with symptoms like mine?  And if so, any diagnosis?  Please help.

I can identify with what you are saying. I have had this condition for most of my life. I found Vision Specialists of Birmingham and received prisims in my glasses and most all of the condition vanished. Please go to their site and find out if your symptoms are over there.

I Had the same feeling right through christmas last year. My doctor suggested going to a chiropractor. They performed the "epley manouvre" on me and other than the fact that I had to sleep sitting up one night, it really helped. Well worth a try for anyone with the dizziness, fatigue and inner ear problem.

Since my last reply, I had an MRA and MRI done and the MRI showed ovoid plaques in both my right and left frontal lobe.  My dr thinks I might have MS and is sending me to a neurologist for further testing to make sure.

For your consideration...

For those of you who have exhausted every type doctor (gastro, neuro, hemo, etc.) from trying to diagnose you, and you have had neuro issues, stomach issues, depression, anxiety, tachycardia, heart palpitations, severe fatigue and more.  Please consider Adrenal Fatigue as a possible culprit.  It is not very well known by conventional doctors and often times they will dismiss your symptoms as "just in your head."  Please don't be discouraged, there is something causing it and you need to investigate further.  Also, you may want to research "latent lyme disease" or "b12 deficiency." I suffered immensely for years and I was able to link it to Adrenal Fatigue.

Valium is the culprit.Come off it, decrease meds slowly.Ie quarter your tabs and take a month to come off them 1 qtr less for a week maybe two and so on.They are awful things and should only be used short term.I lost years of my kids growing up time because of them, also I developed agrophobia.Which is a well known side affect.Took me a long time to realise that what did help in the begining certainly wasnt any more.My Doctor used to just get me out the door quick method with them.

I had to come off these on my own, boy was I glad in the end.Good luck.

Hi There I was reading your post on your symptons I am in England but I may have hope for you because I have had majority of all these symptons I have read out of all these people but no medic found the answer but I did first i'd like to say do you wear glasses or contacts and do you read music a lot when playing guitar or do you use a computer for work if so look up computer vision syndrome on the internet think you will find this useful information. I found eyes ok they need rest when doing close work ie intense you don't blink as much I also brought a book on eyestrain and because eyes are the brain you can overdo your eyes which affects your nervous system ie and affects rest of the body all i can say to you is first get your eyes checked two watch how long you stare at computers etc no longer than 20 mins then take a break and don't do long stretches make sure you sleep regular hours keep hydrated watch your neck posture when on the guitar too because this affects eyes too and eyestrain can give you pains all round your head to the ears head back of head and it is nasty I was very giddy with it its just overuse of them whites of your eyes should be white and if you move your eyes you might feel they are tight or strained not sure but your symptons fit with what i had been suffering from.
