I get this exact same feeling! I'm 16 and it is so difficult to explain the feeling once it has gone down, I feel like im being rushed and not in control of my actions; almost if my movement is over rehearsed!

I am 31 and I still get this. It is awesome to see that others get this too. I do not believe that it is AWS though. Not for me anyway. Yes, time feels super fast, but everything is super loud for me. I could hear whispers from a greater distance and even people writing with pencils are too loud. Not even a pillow blocks those out, but it muffles it. Those are the only 2 things that happens to me. It usually lasts 10 to 20 minutes.

Like everyone else on this thread, I have this disorder too. I'm 17 now and still get mild "attacks" but not as frequently as when I was little. Through Internet research I learned that it may be Derealization Disorder. It occurs frequently in girls and is often coupled with Alice in Wonderland Syndrome. You can have one or the other or both. Derealization is a form of anxiety and can cause you to feel like you're in another fast moving urgent world. This was probably posted forever ago and I see that it solved, but I feel the need to add on for anyone who thinks it not just Alice in Wonderland Syndrome.

My daughter, who is 12, has been dealing with this for about two years. She had an EEG (brain wave study) for multiple days in a hospital (nothing really found...she has abnormal spikes, but not tied to the "speed ups"). Her doctors believe that it is tied to anxiety. She tends to get them before/during tests, when she is worried about something, etc. They last from a minute to a few minutes, and she says it feels like everything is moving fast and sounds are fast. It slowly subsides over 20-30 seconds.

It is not necessarily epilepsy. My daughter has been tested repeatedly, and her doctors believe it is tied to anxiety for her. She frequently has them happen during math tests, or if she is worried someone is upset with or, or something else making her anxious. Like many on this thread, hers started during a sickness, but have continued for over two years. Anywhere from 1-5 times per week.

Figure I'll throw my report into the mix.

This sounds like something I've also experienced since I was a child. I'm 31 now, it's been years since I've gotten the feeling. I just had it again now.

It's almost exactly as described above. Everything seems fast and more intense. It's 350am now, the feeling came on at around 330 suddenly. It ended about 5 minutes ago. I'm a smoker, decided I would have a cigarette and it went away quickly after.

Refreshing to hear that it's a common occurrence. AWS syndrome doesn't seem to fit the bill to me, the other descriptions I've found online seem very similar.

this fast feeling thing started happening to me when I was 7 I guess. it seems like you close your eyes everything you imagine or think seems to move really fast even the voices go so fast that you are unable to recognize those voices and also seems like there are alot of people and you don't know any of them but they are continuously talking loudly and so damn fastly.
it stopped for a while in between but still I do get that feeling not twice a year but may be twice 3 months.

and also I really want to share but I don't know how to explain that my brain feels numb sometimes like I keep on watching things and doing regular stuff but seems like my brain is way too heavy to carry.

This happens when we build up cortisol in our sleep! I have this a lot! Especially if I wake up and immediately get out of bed for a drink or to go to the bathroom! It really scares me, even looking in the mirror, it's like I am frightened by my own reflection! My thoughts feel extremely loud and aggressive, and I tend to repeat the same thought over and over in my head, each time more intense! It's such a hard thing to explain unless you have actually experienced it!
