Hello all, I was looking up to see if anyone else had this issue, and I'm glad I'm not alone in this. For me it starts with a weird feeling, that brings a image to mind. The image is of a spinning top. After that, time feels like it's speeding up, anything I do feels like i'm rushing, anything that happens around me feels off and rushed. It first started when I was six, and now happens rarely. Also, it only happens when i'm in bed. I have yet to know why this occurs, if anyone figures out what the "speedy feeling" is , i'd love to know.

I’ve also got this, mine has only recently started like 2/3 months ago and it’s almost as if my heads racing but my body is totally fine.. it makes me want to cry, sometimes it’s as if I’m angry when I’m not at all! I try to calm myself down by focusing on something for a while then it will go. I seen on here it’s as if you have an adrenaline rush in your head and I couldn’t agree more, any ideas on how to make it stop completely

This happened to me once or twice when I was about 10. I'm 14 now. It would feel like I'm moving super fast and the voice in my head sounds urgent too. I was so confused and scared. No one was around me during this. When I tried to move or reach for something, it would feel so fast that I was so overwhelmed and try not to move at all. To calm my mind I tried reading sentences very slowly from books. Again my voice sounds very urgent and fast. It helped me feel like I'm 'slowing down' but if I lose concentration from reading that fast feeling would come back. It lasted about 5-10 minutes.

It happens mostly at night for me. I've had it about 10 times a year, for 5 years, and I'm feeling one right now just from the thought of them. I never really knew what it was. I always felt as if my heart was beating really fast, or in a rhythmic way that I could hear when I have one of these episodes. I've found that it's easiest just to lay down, avoid stairs, and cuddle with a human being or a pet for a bit.

My wife and I have an appointment on the 22nd of this month for an EEG, our ten year old son is having the same issue. It seems like it mostly happens later at night when he’s asleep and it wakes him up, Although it did happen to him once at school.

I am soooo glad that someone else gets these too! I've been too scared to talk to anyone because I was afraid no one would believe me! I got it during a test today and everything sped up and even felt like the person's knee behind me also sped up today

Can you let us know how this goes for you and what you find out? My daughter told us for the first time today that things are going really fast in met mind. I found this thread and read through the stories. I’m worried.

What’s the website you found called. I recently had our daughter tell us this same thing happened to her.

I don't think it's anything to be worried about. I'm 17 now, and it's died down quite alot, for me. Although, I think i'd be good to take her to the doctor, just in case.

A friend sent me this thread after explaining to her what I felt before. It was nice to see people reaching out about their experiences just when I thought I am the only person experiencing this weird sensation.
This whole adrenaline rush sensation took a toll on my education. After a battle of explaining this weird thing to my parents, they decided to let me rest for a month. My parents and my doctor thought it was stress from schoolworks that affected me so my parents let me relax and take a break. I experience this fast phased sensation a little less than before. It doesn't scare me that much anymore. I think taking good night sleeps and taking little vacations helped me to pick myself up again. Today, i rarely experience this and I kind of know what triggers it now. I am not scared of it amymore and I take it as a cool thing now. (gotta accept and love myself more lol) It's a shame we found this thread a little too late.
I am happy to share what I experienced. I am also free if you seek someone to talk to about the topic. Thanks

You're the first one to say that an image also comes to your mind. Mine is when I experience a certain dream-like visualization of a big rock and a hammer, the fast phased sensation starts to happen after I fully visualize that memory. (the image is vague for me and i cant remember it fully). I think this image is like a trigger for us. When I feel like I'm about to experience the sensation, I try to distract myself from imagining it fully. (usually happens when I'm stressed and have a lot in mind) But I fail to avoid it when I suddenly wake up from my sleep. I just let it pass or just get back to sleep if i'm really scared.
