First things first: 24 years old, (White and Korean) UTI- Marina, this is the second one, used since 2007 I just started having this issue, recently on a few different antibiotics for unrelated issues. Typically I'd blame it on ovulation, I get extra discharge and a tad of a sour taste but, now it's so sour I can't perform oral on husband unless he rinses first. He's also broken out around the groin area, not the penis or balls itself but, the pubic hair area. Noe given he is a very hairy man who works in a shop that gets in the 100's even in winter but, This popped started right after sex. Whenever period or ovulation happen, he will have some irritation that goes away pretty quickly but, this time, It's not going away. I am only 24 years old, my drive has been down for two years (sex maybe once a week, sometimes only once a month), with help from medication for unrelated conditions, my drive is beggining to come back. So it's quite upsetting when I am unable to please my husband who is very good to me and never pressures me sexually.

I too have been stuggling with this issue for a long time. I am on birth control as well. Ive tried all the homeopathic tricks for yeast infections and BV as well as antibiotics. I just tried rinising with baking soda and water in the shower and immediately that night the taste was no longer sour. It was just a little salty which was not as gross. Waking up the next day - I am the freshest I have been in months! Very little discharge and barely any residual sour taste. Finally relief. Cytolytic vaginosis seems to be the issue here. Everyone should look into it. I think that doctors are ill informed about this condition because they're isnt some medicine that they can sell you for it! I wish i had known sooner.

I'm 24 and I've had this problem on and off over the years. Here's what helps:I typically drink just water and milk. Only cokes and stuff when I'm mixing my alcohol. I don't remember who told me, but it was said that pineapple juice is a really good fixer of these kinds of problems.

Since then, I've kept some sort of juice that has real pineapple in it. (Dole makes a really good orange and pineapple juice.) After 2-5 days, I will notice a difference. I don't drink it often because it's too sweet for me, but it certainly does the trick. I taste sweeter, cleaner, and my girlfriend doesn't mind going down on me without the flavored lube. ;)

As far as the white clumping discharge, it tends to go away with it. Though I know if you're taking any antibiotics, medication, or vitimans, it can change your taste to something pretty bitter. I do take low estrogen birth control to help regulate my periods, but I really don't see that as the cause.

Tangy. The taste is tangy and it's normal. It may be more or less tangy at various times but tangy it is.

What do you expect it to taste like?

aldo, stop with the douching and crazy stuff like that. If your doctor has given you the all-clear, you're fine. Women have to quit with the genital self-loathing. Genitals have odours and flavours and neither of them is mint.

There's a difference between a tangy flavor and a taste/mouth sensation that I can only compare to having drunk an extremely, extremely dry wine (and I like dry wine, but this is not how it's supposed to be). A taste that is so unpleasant that it makes your mouth pucker. A taste that makes your partner never even consider oral sex as part of foreplay. So, please, have some sympathy for those of us who ARE in touch with our bodies - we are not grossed out by regular secretions, but this is something different. Please get off your f*****g high horse, because you've obviously never had to deal with this. I've found better and much more empathetic answers on this thread than I have when I've asked gyn professionals, including fertility specialists, who wouldn't even consider that this might be a factor. Try living with that.

So glad I found this forum! I don't have discharge at all. But during sex my guy wanted me to get off him and do oral so I did and it was like lemon! Not disgusting or anything like that but Ya like he had lemon juice in his member..is it just the foods we eat. I rarely eat fast food and I've never liked lemon or sour flavored foods. But recently I've been craving lemony flavored things. Like key lime your hurt or lemon burst yogurt. So I wonder if that's why suddenly I taste like that? Weird

I would also like to comment on the person that didn't mean to be rude but said its disgusting that we've tasted ourselves. Well I'm not a prude and I'm a sexual women that is comfortable with my body and experimenting sexually with my guy. Especially if he likes it! Women should be more comfortable sexually. I'm no feminist, just a sexually charged women that doesn't like to be judged because 1. I love pleasing my guy and 2. I'm not plain old vanilla Lol vanilla is boring. Not at all times but throw in some excitement and you may be surprised

6/6/15: I am 24, have been sexually active for 6 years, eat healthy, and exercise regularly. I have tasted myself for years and have always had a "normal vaginal taste," but the past 6 months or so it tastes super sour, even right after the shower. I have been reading all these posts of women who experience the same problem, but has anyone found a cause/solution? Is it the birth control horomones? I have a mirena IUD. Please HELP!

I just read an article that drinking Aloe Vera juice in the morning on an empty stomach for 3 days is supposed to cure this. I'm gonna try it. Hopefully this works.

Has anyone ever considered the thought that maybe this isn't a problem? That maybe it's actually normal? Since so many women seem to experience it, and often without other problems and symptoms, no itching, irritation, inflammation, infection, etc. Why does it have to be perceived as a problem? It's a vagina. It's not going to taste like sugar and honey, and it's not going to taste like nothing. Everyone's is different, but as long as your healthy, I feel like it's practical to just try and be comfortable with whatever you taste like, whenever. If the person going down on you is really that disgusted then they probably shouldn't be going down on you in the first place. They need to get over themselves and enjoy what you're allowing them to do. p***y tastes like p***y. *is confused* Ladies, come on. Give yourselves a break. You're fine just the way you are.

This sounds like you could possibly have yeast infection because the excess discharge shouldn't be happening during sex
