I have been on the internet now for about a month researching what is wrong with me. I think I might have found the answer with PTLS. I had my TL when I had my second child in Jan.04. My periods soon became very painful. I went to my ob/gyn and he performed a hydrothermal ablasion. My periods got easier but soon enough my severe PMS symptoms came back. Within the past 6 months I feel like I am going crazy. My mood swings are very extreme,I am tired all the time, bad headaches. The week before my period is the worse. My breasts swell,I cry for no reason,I can barely stay awake throughout the day. My actual period lasts only a few days, very light bleeding,no cramps(probably because of the ablasion). I just have a general feeling of going out of my mind. I am only 31 yrs old and can't believe I feel like this. My main question is that could this be PTLS since it has been 3 years since my TL? Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
larsav hello I also suffer from "post tubal ligation syndrome". I have been researching this over and over and i am very surprised on home many women this effects. I don't understand why we are not informed of this when we have the procedure done. I can only tell you that the only way to get releif is either a hysterectomy or tubal reversal surgery (which it's not covered by insurance because it's a doctor caused syndrome). I really think that something should be done about this. We need to spread the word somehow to let women know about this before the make the descision to have a tubal ligation. I also think reading on Dr. Berger 's website in chapel hill n.c. Their information comes in handy and there is an actual message board for women who also suffer from "post tubal ligation syndrome" It helps being able to now that I am not alone enduring this hell caused from this! I hope this comes in handy!
