Hello Everyone,
I have never been an regular runner but as I have gotten older, it seem that running is the best way to loose weight and stay fit all around.
I have been going to the gym regularly for about 2-3 weeks now, and I need some advice about things I need to do to loose weight. I have not been active in years and recently I promised myself that by years end I will have lost at least 40-50 lbs. I am an ex athlete so I am no stranger to working out and I love it but I need some help.
I have told that in order to maximize weight loss I need to be in the heart range of about 115 to 143 and to at least maintain that for about 30 minutes. Is this correct? I am 29 years old and my resting HR is about 58(a little high I know).
Normally when I get in the gym I can only really devout around 45 minutes to my work out. I work nights so I workout before I go into work. I have always heard that muscle burns more fat and I a little hesitant to bring weights into my work out because it seems I bulk up allot faster then I actually loose the fat. Any Ideas?
Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
