Hello, I am a 77 year old male. I still umpire baseball after about 40 years of umpiring.
This past Monday I got hit with a baseball on my right shoulder between my breast protector and shoulder pad. I took a good hard hit. The last couple of days I have noticed a golf ball size knot appearing where I was hit with the baseball. I know I need to get the shoulder xrayed and I will on Saturday. Today being Friday.

I found the same thing on my left collar bone a couple days ago. I had a sore throat also just like you. Went to hospital they did a CT scan w contrast. It didn't show anything abnormal on this. No sign of cancer. But for me to keep an eye on it and if it started to get bigger to go to my family doctor. Then he will probably send me to an ear nose n throat doctor.

I had a lump on the right side of my collarbone, moves around when you push on it, and sore to the touch. It was a lymph node. I was tentatively diagnosed with cat scratch disease (one of my cats had been standing on that shoulder about four days before the lump appeared and he scratched me, and there are still two little pink inflamed spots where his claws got me). They did a blood test and have sent it out to confirm, and gave me antibiotics in the meantime. This afternoon, the doc was tentative because the node was smaller than expected, the lymph node was swelling a few days before it should have been, and I didn't have other symptoms, but tonight the fever kicked in, so I suspect he's right. Just letting you all know because I didn't even think about a connection between a cat standing on my shoulder to the appearance of a lump. Apparently, it affects the nearest lymph node to the point of entry first and then moves on from there. I have to admit that I was relieved it wasn't lymphoma.

I'm a 53 year old female. I also have lumps above my collarbone. One the size of a lemon and the other a bit larger than a golf ball. Also my nodes are swollen in the back of my neck. I too ITCH!!!! And have horrible headaches and bruusing from scratching. Went t o the ER and am on antibiotics and antihistamines and histamine blockers. We'll see how it goes over the next week. Everything I've researched, and I HAVE extensively, has made me come to believe to INSIST on a lymph fluid biopsy if my current course of action doesn't work. I hope the best for you. Wish I could have been of more help.

Hi. I am a 52 year old female with a soft lump on my right collar bone. It has been there for years but now it's growing and it tends to be sore more often; especially when stressed. I am very concerned....

Recommendation? Thoughts? I am trying to schedule an appointment with my primary care physician... I've read enough to be worried...

Hi, I'm 21

This sounds exactly like me, I am slightly concerned though so am making a doctors appointment for tomorrow.
I don't know what 'Picasso vision' is but if it what i get, which is enhanced patterns and lines in everything i see, well i just thought the world was really pretty.
I have been having these headaches for quite some time though, it feels like there is a pressure that is stuck in my head and that i need to drain, I have accidentally cut my neck with my fingernails trying to ease the pain. but i had been told that these were just headaches.

This article has definitely made me consider the connection between things, my persistent yet undiagnosed cough, and the hard lump on my collar bone

Hi I'm a 14 year old girl and have had a small paineless bump about and inch away from my collarbone for a few months now. It's not hard as i am able to move it around. I was told not to worry about so try my best not to think about it but my mind keeps coming back to it and I feel that if I don't get it checked out soon it could lead to something much worse. Any ideas on what it could be?
Thank you
