If you are a teenager becoming new in this then you should know a few things that will prevent you from any possible injuries or infections.

Your genital hygiene should be very important. If you are masturbating you should clean your penis from seman. Like medic_dan said, it will become sticky and smelly. And if left unclean for long period of time it can even become infected. The semen don’t live long and like any organic life form they decomposed and this can cause the irritation to the skin on your penis.
