Hi, guys. I have been diagnosed with nose polyps. My ENT specialist for the beginning recommended me corticosteroid. I would like to know what the effectiveness of these medications is when treating nose polyps. Can anyone tell me this? I would really appreciate this piece of info. Thank you for replying.

Hi, there. Don’t doubt in corticosteroids. They can be effective if the polyp is single or if polyps are smaller. In these cases, most ENT specialists recommend topical corticosteroids. Some of them are: Nasonex, Nasacort, Rhinocort, etc. Sometimes oral corticosteroids are recommended as well. Local products show fewer side effects. If this does not help you, then you should consider surgery. I hope everything will be all right. Bye!

I know its been a year ,but what did you do about your nasal polyps? I just had a polypectomy nasal surgery last week , not sure if its going to be a cure. but there is always flonaise to rely on. you should have got relief from the corticosteroid spray. predisone is oral and is helpful, but you can't stay on steroids long term, damage to organs. the spray from what I learned some people use long term.
