when my oldest daughter was around 2, she decided to eat my husbands' contacts.
A few days later, she says "Mom, I eat pin"
Here, she had swallowed a straight pin.......had to go in everday for xrays until it was passed.

My husband was on an extended assignment in Turkey. I was in San Antonio Texas. Not much to do there with a young child except go swimming.
My son was/is fearless and quite adept at the high dive. The lifeguard blew the "adult only swim" whistle. My son being the rule follower, decided rather than jump, he would come down the stairs.
On the way down, he swayed and missed the stairs completely and fell on to concrete. I was on him in a second because I sat at the edge of the deep end to keep an eye on him.
One ambulance ride later, being "forgotten" in the ER, and several xrays later, he was absolutely fine--not one scratch.
If I was a cat, I used up one of my nine lives that day. He scared the life out of me.
