Tapeworms..you need praziquantel.. Reg stool test won't catch it..comprehensive stool analysis test might..praziquantel is also used in horse wormer which people have been known to use when desperate because docs won't listen

I'm so glad to hear your story! I traveled to Bolivia 7 months ago and got very sick wth dihareal and nausea and when I returned back my doctor also put me in Cipro for a 3-4 day course. Now, 6 months later I still have the urgency to go to the bathroom and loose stools with strange spots in them and mucus as well... I was tested for bacterial and parasitic infections and they al came back clean... At this point my doctor thinks I now have IBS which can be triggered by severe intentional sickness like I had. I now have to monitor what I eat and keep track of what foods make me sick. I also take a probiotic once daily to cleanse my gut bacteria and replace it with the rift bacteria. I'm not sure if it's IBS or something else but for now that's what it seems like.

I was reading your post about getting sick while in Mexico and your list of symptoms.. I'll tell you right now, you sound exactly like what I had while in Mexico in 1991.. if you ate fish at all, there's a very good chance you have something called Ciguatera.. Ciguatera isn't a bacterial infection, it's a biotoxin illness from a fish that eats a underwater plant that carries this particular toxin, it's a poison basically..I have this and after numerous numerous trips to all kinds of drs over the last 20+ years, I was correctly diagnosed. There is not a test for this.. and it can stay with you and "flare ", certain foods and alcohol can exacerbate it as well as any exertion:(... I was misdiagnosed with fibromyalgia.. because it causes very similar symptoms... but a lot of gi issues and severe or frequent headaches and dizziness, can cause joint and muscle pain especially back pain and asthma.. so I wanted to share this and hope you don't have it and you're back to your healthy self..but if not, there are treatments that can help the symptoms..
