The only way to know for sure if you have an STD is to get tested for an STD, there is no other way. Persistent white discharge could be a sign of both yeast and bacterial infections.
Yeast infection may be recurrent because of an incomplete cure or you may suffer relapses due to a resistant strain of yeast. Yeast infection may persist when there’s suppressed immune system, prolonged stress, or if you suffer from diabetes as yeast just loves sugar as well as it loves moist areas.
If you kept having sex while on the treatment with a partner who may also have it, you two could be passing the infection to each other over and over again.
If you are suspecting an STD, have it checked, and talk to your doctor about what you could be doing wrong during the treatment or if you are dealing with a more resistant strain.
It would be best if you took all the medications prescribed, used cotton underwear, kept the area dry, used mild soaps, avoid sweets and alcohol, as well as diary products and try to keep stress down to a minimum.
